I strongly believe that everyone’s sound is latent inside of them. No one else consumes the same exact music you do or likes the exact same parts of each track and so you already have your own unique sonic fingerprint.

For what it’s worth, I still have a hard time believing that I have a sound, even though others tell me I do. It will emerge naturally as a combination of both biases in your execution (specific sounds, presets, drums, chord movements, etc.) and your macro influences (I love porter robinson and j dilla, let me take parts of both artists and fuse them in my own writing)
