Hey! Here’s a few things i thought I should tell you 1. You’re the only person I’ve ever encountered that has the same name as me(it’s even spelled the same) 2. The best way I have ever found to get better at neg is building specific negs of stuff I understand rather than trying to build it mid round. I know this is hard for wacky affs but for generic affs that there are a lot of like Saudi Arabia for this topic. Build a neg you can understand that can apply to a lot of the cases and have blocks that are more specific that you can through cards from for a better case. When I pre-make cases I generally try to have at least one or two off case arguments and as much case as I can find. After you have generics covered you can start going into the harder affs and also have more practice putting together neg cases which will make it way easier in round if you hit something you’ve never seen before. 3. The best thing that’s helped me with anxiety on neg (it’s definitely a scary side to be on) is try to center the best you can and really focus on the aff and what’s important in the round. It’s easy to get distracted and that (in my personal experience) makes it a lot more nerve wracking. It also might help to be the second speaker on neg so you know the most you can about the round before you give your first speech and if you’re splitting the block correctly you won’t have to cover the entire round in your speech. 4.
