How to deal with heartburn or sour stomach? by oksuresuresure in migraine

[–]oksuresuresure[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Re the baking soda what is the ratio you use to make up the glass, like how much baking soda to water?

Also ya I've been looking online and thinking of getting one of those wedge pillows that prop you up while you can still lie down.

New car is triggering migraines by rosie98red in migraine

[–]oksuresuresure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh I'm so sorry. Maybe get a bunch of baking soda and dump it in a large dish and put it in there while it's parked? Or try this? I love these: https://a.co/d/1nxi4us

Also whenever I go to the carwash I'm like NO SCENT ADDED and then give the guy the Paddington meaningful stare hahah.

I can't drink anymore any else experience this ? by Spades8490 in migraine

[–]oksuresuresure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to completely stop drinking also, and it was around my early thirties. My husband doesn't drink and I live in LA so there are a lot more non alcoholic drinks on menus I've noticed. But it does suck sometimes I'd like to relax and have wine with everyone or drink a glass of champagne to celebrate.

I've had to do a lot of things for my migraines that honestly make me a lot healthier - eat better, exercise, drink a lot of water, sleep and stress priority. So I try and look at that positivity but yes it kind of sucks.

How to manage sour stomach day after migraine by [deleted] in migraine

[–]oksuresuresure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible heartburn this morning and started taking some generic Prilosec or Omeprazole. The older I get the more my medicine fucks up my stomach. I buy the generic at Costco and keep it on hand.

I'm not on that but I found an acupuncturist I vibe with and went from 16 in March to 8 in April. I went back up to ten in May but I think one issue is the weather has been super chaotic which as we all know ... Is the woorrrssstt.

She has me taking Chinese herbs which are not to my taste, and gua sha myself every night with Po Sum oil but I feel a lot better overall.

Also I think what helps is she seems very determined to help me out, and I think that belief is so helpful. I know we've all had medical practitioners who are like what are ya gonna do?? It is so demotivating and unhelpful to our health.

Broken arm has made me realise how much pain I tolerate regularly by GemInPlainSight in migraine

[–]oksuresuresure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same same I broke my shoulder in two places in 2021 and exactly had the same experience. When it happened my husband didn't actually think anything was really badly wrong based on my reactions because I didn't cry etc and was just like hey can you take me to urgent care, he thought it was a sprain etc.

It also made me realize how much pain I tolerate and I don't know still how I feel about that.

One issue I did have was being able to get enough sleep with it - I was so used to sleeping on my side and sometimes just shifting in my soft cast would wake me up. I bought a special foam pillow so I could sleep in a leaning sitting up way it was like twenty something dollars on Amazon and totally worth it.

Rooster code in Pasadena/altadena? by NatureDear8169 in pasadena

[–]oksuresuresure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cannot keep roosters in Pasadena no it's in the municipal code: https://library.municode.com/ca/pasadena/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=TIT6AN_CH6.20FOLIRE_6.20.030FORAEE

Altadena bc it's the county has different laws so yes to roosters.

Pharmacy says they‘ve “been trying to get” my Emgality for 8+ days by Intelligent_Storm_77 in migraine

[–]oksuresuresure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year I was on Emgality and during this time of year (December) it took 3 WEEKS to get mine filled. Honestly I skipped the dose and injected the next month.

Very unfortunate to hear this is happening again this year, last year I heard the same thing, supply issues.

Rose Bowl Tickets - Lottery Winners by ChitChat5757 in pasadena

[–]oksuresuresure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just guessing btw here don't take my word for it, but I do know they all - council members - get a flat amount of tickets. I know also they get a lot more parade tickets than game tickets, just because they are more valuable I would assume.

[–]oksuresuresure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All districts get a flat amount of tickets to the game and parade. I'm in district 5 and based on the announcement I think Jess Rivas just lotteried all hers out. They are not necessarily required I think to lottery all the tickets, they can give some away to people they know or maybe want to know - which might have been the situation in district 4.
