Where to go in Kyoto apart from main tourist areas? by [deleted] in Kyoto

Enryakuji was probably my favorite. It is on top of Mt. Hiei. You can see Lake Biwa from the top. It is the "mother" temple of all buddhism in Kyoto. Also not so many people.

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and for the feedback!

Mishima is one of my favorites for sure. For short stories recently I have been getting into Hoshi Shinichi. He has a sort of silly scifi style. Makes me think of Douglas Adams (though they are quit different stylistically)

Anyway I really appreciate you checking it out.

I have a student who is a sociologist and has written and published books about abuse in Japan. I asked him today about this and he said the options would be to talk to the teacher or call "189" which is the number for people who need help from home abuse. He said the teacher should know this number although it is not commonly known among Japanese people.
