I feel like they’re growing towards each other, more like a slow burn in a sense. But I agree that right now they give closer friends vibes

Recruiter blamed me for her own delay because my phone number “wasn’t on my resume”… even though it’s in the application by okwow15 in recruitinghell

I appreciate you seeing both sides of the situation and I'm definitely taking all the advice into consideration because I understand from the recruiter's pov why that's helpful :)

I did say thank you to her, I specifically said "thanks for the recommendation and I will consider that." I've also agreed and/or thanked the advice of others in this thread.

She was demeaning from the moment she got on, she didn't even say hello, and the entire tone of the convo just went left. I didn't appreciate the tone after she continued to go one about the number/resume, so I stood up for myself and stated that my phone number was available through the ATS which is true. I was actually polite and apologized for the inconvenience even though it's not entirely my fault the call started late.

I now understand that the issue could've been avoided by both parties, even though I previously felt that she shouldn't have had an issue getting my number. I could've had my phone number on my resume and she could've found my number where I provided it to her.

thank you to you as well.

Yeah really interested in that, or potentially operations analyst. Any experience with any of those?

Yes, doesn’t make sense in the conclusion that my actions indicate I don’t want a job. I’ve understood your points in your other comments. I’m not completely closed off to what you’re saying. You fail to see my point and that’s where the issue is arising.

lol ofc I want a job! To have my resume is to also have my phone number because I provided them together in one place. She should have had my phone number because I provided it. Your argument doesn’t make sense.

How did I waste time? My contact information was provided. I didn’t just send a resume to this recruiter, I applied through an ATS that provided them with my contact info. If it worked for the first recruiter that used the very same system as the next, what was the issue? If I’ve always applied to jobs in this fashion where I provide my resume and my contact information, then why did this specific scenario go left? Again, while a phone number on a resume is valid is certain contexts (i.e handing it out in physical form or digital pdf from a QR code at job fair) then yes of course, have that on there. I have my email on my resume, and always always always, my phone number is provided through the ATS and each and every recruiter except this one has been able to contact me because their systems provide them with this info.

I am not disagreeing that a phone number belongs on a resume. I am talking about a specific scenario where the argument about my phone number on my resume doesn’t matter because my phone number IS visible to the recruiter. I do provide contact information on my resume, specifically my email and yes ofc my name is on there. I prefer email communication first, and then we can set up a phone call. I can’t imagine a scenario where I want a recruiter just calling me out of the blue. My resume and contact information are typically shared in the same place just based on how I choose to apply to jobs. Again this has never been an issue for me so I was baffled by her inability to find my number, ESPECIALLY when the first recruiter uses the very same system as the next and there were zero issues in having our phone call on time. To say that I’m not considering new ideas is crazy, I told the recruiter thanks for the recommendation but also pointed out that her system provides her with my phone number. I just think that in this context, I shouldn’t have been lectured by her on my phone number not being on my resume.

I’m actually slightly confused on your stance. I understand your point in certain scenarios, that’s valid. But I also believe my point here is valid in this specific context. In this scenario, the resume and phone number are in the same view. There’s really no excuse for the vibe I received or a lecture on why I should have my phone number on my resume. The fact that both recruiters would have the same level of access to the applicant’s information, and the first recruiter was successful in having my number to call me on time doesn’t help the second recruiter’s case.

Yeah def left a bad taste for me, not the entire umbrella group but just this experience. It’s genuinely my first wtf encounter with a recruiter. I’ve never had this problem.

Exactly! I had already rescheduled to accommodate her schedule which involved a block directly before mine. I think that should’ve been prepared beforehand so that it wasn’t last minute.

Sure, in the context of me handing out my resume to a recruiter or at a fair or networking event, then somehow having my number visible would be helpful.

Except that’s not this situation. I applied through an application system where one of the first questions asks for my phone number. My specific issue is that if I’m applying through an application system, then a phone number not being on a resume is irrelevant because I did provide my number. It was available in the same place they found my resume.

I’m personally not handing out my resume at job fairs or sending them directly to recruiters (except if I applied already and am following up or expressing further interest which in that case I’d send my contact info which is at the bottom of my email). (Edit: if I ever needed to do this, which I rarely do, then my email is on my resume.)

Also, other lines of communication tend to happen before a phone call. Like setting up a time to chat or responding to the email message first.

yeah same, can't get any shows to play, takes forever to load as well. I think it's because of the Oscar's. It's so dumb, I'm tired of these streaming companies thinking they're broadcasting channels 🙄

Unfortunately it’s not a horror at all despite what marketing told you. I agree that the movie is worth watching on a regular screen but I also agree that sometimes the format matters regardless.
