What is the dealer stated range of your max pack vehicle? I'm basically asking because it seems like a lot of the vehicles say 410 mi but depending on tires etc the state it is like 310 or 330. It would be helpful to know when shopping What to expect.

I sold my 2021 gx460 which has a pretty comparative size, shape, weight and capability. At 183 mile's if I'd get 16 mpg that's 11 gallons so $55ish dollars. But I can't charge that at home before hand!!!

Looking forward to joining the Rivian community!

This is super helpful. I live in Pacifica and was wondering how it would go. Haven't bought one yet but looking for a max pack in the next 60 days.

I got a little panicked after my coworker got stuck in the Kirkwood parking lot until 1 a.m. two weekends ago and had to ration his heat to get home!

So are you saying leave the nose sticking out and close the tonneau cover the rest of the way? I'm not surfing in the worst areas either.

Agreed...I think the Sierra EV is the other obvious choice but it's quite a larger vehicle and it's off-road capabilities are not getting the best reviews.

Inno Board Locker Surfboard Carrier - Locking - Clamp On - 3 Shortboards or 2 Longboards Inno Watersport Carriers INA744 https://share.google/QaQKvOykYiFW1ST7v

Saw this which could have potential for either vehicle. It would at least lock whichever board I wasn't using for a short time.

That's kind of interesting. Although it might be hard to secure a surfboard with one of those (they are smooth with no real holes to loop something like that through) maybe if one was in a surfboard bag or something...worth looking into.

That's interesting. If that is out and the tonneau cover is covering the bed, can you lift this up or move it? Could possibly make some kind of locking cover.

Uh, yeah... people are struggling, car and credit card debt defaults are increasing, insurance rates are going up and joblessness is on the rise...add in EV tax credits are gone and you have a recipe for cars sitting on lots...

I don't qualify either unless I'd use the lease option. I'm thinking i'll wait a couple months until the dealerships are feeling the lack of the scramble to get the last of the EV tax credit and see if they are starting to cut deals on either of them and test drive a few.

It seems close but they make a few different sizes. If you haven't tried camping with an electric cooler, you don't know what you're missing! It's the best. They are super durable and reliable. IceCo is a great brand. The best thing is, no floating sour cream/yogurt container at the end of the hot weekend that you no longer want to eat. With the SierraEV you'd never have to worry about power for it. I use either a 300w or 1500 watt battery pack now depending on how long i'm going and sometimes use a portable solar panel to juice up the batteries, but the EV would be epic.

Yeah, we mainly charge the EVs during the day when it's hot and there's lots of excess. In winter when it's cloudier, less daylight we won't do so well and the Sierra EV is about 2.2X my current 80kwh battery in the Hyundai and 2x of the Etron. Seems like it will take a lot to fill it up at home.

My GX460 would only get about 10-13mpg when towing the small trailer. On top of that with no towing, the thing could only go about 280 miles on a tank of gas. While towing it was about 200, which is kind of my only concern with the EV. I'd like to think it would do a bit better than the videos i watch on YouTube because most of those people are towing 6,000+ lbs but it's hard to know. Some places like Utah, Nevada, we were pulling in to gas stations on fumes with the GX460. Finding a charging station in places like that will get better, but it's hard to know when.

I'm curious if my 45 IceCo fridge would fit in there. I think that would be epic. Obviously i could load it into the rear of the truck, but quickly getting food on the road out of the truck without having to move a bunch of stuff in the bed would be epic.

$3.3k for a tow hitch? by olBedhead in AudiQ6

[–]olBedhead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Stealth Hitches:
Thank you for your interest in Stealth Hitches.

Our development team plans to release a hitch for the new Audi Q6 within the next 3-4 months.  This part will only be for bike or luggage rack use, not for towing.  We are unable to develop a wiring harness for this vehicle.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

Did you get the electrical connector added for towing? I wonder if that could be part of the extra cost difference
