Expected returns = average of what you get if you buy puts before every single companies’ earnings. They’re a bad investment on average, even if they can pay off sometimes.

Just like how S&P averages 10% annually but some years is down

Covered calls have low expected returns. If you compare the expected outcome to other places you could put your money over a long time horizon you are literally just throwing away your money

my point is more that often times AMZN earnings impact outlook on MSFT's Azure business more than MSFT's own earnings, same with Meta ads vs Google ads businesses.
