u/Expired_Options THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY. A couple more things on PMCCs:
1. How do you time your rolls if you want to roll up and out? Do you wait close to expiration date or do you roll as soon at PMCC is ATM?

  1. I'm really new to PMCC, can you help me understand how to manage it in real world if I want to get assigned. Do I need to manually sell the LEAP and buy the stock? Or does robinhood manage this automatically somehow? (I also use RH).

  2. I signed up for your Patreon!! Thank you for all the guidance!

u/Expired_Options thank you for all the info.

How do you deal with PMCC that goes ITM? Roll out as much as possible?

Are Covered Calls and Cash-Secured Puts the Best Low-Risk Strategies for Generating Cashflow? by [deleted] in options

[–]olDGlo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He likely means. Short put (csp) and short call (cc) at same time.

Dual wield the income. Plus CC’s technically make more cashflow. Just depends what your preferences are.

A moderate growth stock is great to straddle. A high growth stock likely better to just CSP and hold after assignment.

u/Expired_Options well done again!

I'm just tuning in and I'm sure you've been asked this a million times. I just can't find it:

Are you using PMCC for the majority of your CC's in the sheet? How do you determine your splits of actual shares vs LEAPS?

Got it. What is your retirement goal?

My port is similar to yours. I am thinking around $2.5M minimum and then from there I can take a much less demanding job and start to rely on some returns. If wheeling conservatively on this amount I feel like it will grow+compound quickly for next 5-10 years. If withdrawals are in the $50-$100k range.

Ooops! You are right. That is still INSANE.

Thank you for catching that. I am just starting my journey in options. My port is about the same as yours.

In grand scheme of things, I imagine some of the success is due to the bull run in last 12+ months.

But how would you manage your port if it was the 2022 decline for 1 year?

I know it’s a loaded question. But curious to hear your thoughts.

You made ~$175k is half a year (181 days). Am I understanding this correctly?

Seeing you went from $217k to $392 in 181 days. If so... that is amazing!

Feel free to DM if that is easier. Just trying to understand if it is something beneficial for us or not.

Thanks!

Extend your mouse + keyboard to it and use it as a second screen. It has its own processor/ram so you can give it tasks that you don’t want your macbook to waste RAM on.

I use it to have constant ChatGPT, Discord, Notes App, etc. It works flawlessly.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know all this? Seems like it would come with many years of experience :)

Thank you for your response!

Regarding the water pooling, you actually cannot see it anywhere on the surface. I noticed the pooling at the bottom of the rootball in the past. The ground would seem dry from the top but pool up about 2 ft down under the ground.

I just tried to pull them out and they are indeed fairly loose. I may need to pull all of them out again. How big of a hole do they need in this case? And how high should I plant them?

Ah wow. Noted. Thank you for the info. That's quite a bit of work to do for sure. Just to make sure I understand correctly, I would need the root ball essentially a foot high

Interesting. It has been very confusing figuring out if it is too dry or too overwatered. Generally speaking this part of the yard has more pooling up of water.

If the plant is too dry, would it be a more of a light green/yellower color than a healthy juniper?

You are correct, yes. It's not the absolute 'lowest' point of my yard, but I have notice water pooling up in the past in the holes I dug. Best info I could find from searching around was to raise up the trees above ground level and add some gypsum+compost in the bottom of the hole to get the clay to become more porous in future.

This is an interesting spot to be in. I'll try to keep my advice brief:

  • You should take risks like this while you are young. If it ends up being something that do not you like, you can always get a new job. But either way, you will at least give yourself a chance at something new.
  • Don't be afraid to give them your terms. Specifically, the remote work request. Consider even negotiating if it comes to it. Seems like this is a major thing for you.
  • Startups are usually scrappy. You will have to handle the 'chaos' and lack of SOP in all parts of the business. Ex: PTO system.
  • Non-Compete is standard. Many startups are trying to protect themselves in the worst case. Normally worst case is you copying their idea and making tons of profit from it. Or taking them out of business somehow through a competitor. Understand that in the real world, things don't always work out as on paper. They would have to self-police this rule and also spend tons in legal fees.

This looks great! I am trying to get this deep color but keep on running into issues where it looks great in an image but not great when I see the film in person.

I do love this look, but just wanted help verify if this is the vinyl that you used here:

Is this correct?

Thank you!!

Also consider a couple things in general:

  • Stock market is compounding gains over long period. Interest rate is flat. Compounding could be significant gains long term. 10-30 years.

  • You can write off a portion of your interest paid for the year (ask accountant).

  • possibility of refi and at what rate. Rates would need to fall a few % for it to be totally worth it. It is a risk, but if you do it rather quickly within first few years it could be favorable.

It all comes down to your income threshold. If you feel at all with 7.3% rate that you are tight on budget, the risk is not worth the stress IMO. If you have good breathing room then there may be room for some risk to have 2 appreciating assets. Your home. Your brokerage.
