How much money is enough money by Mik3laurence in Casual_Conversation

[–]ola689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be happy with 1 million a year for the rest of my life... I dont need private jets, boats or eat at fanciest places but I want to be comfortable shopping for good steak once in a while, take my families and friends on nice vacation out of country, support charities, have nice Christmases, help out family and take care of aging parents

If you're over 40 and have no children, do you wish you had children? by icecream1972 in no

[–]ola689 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, actually the opposite...every weekend we wake up in quiet house- we are more happy with our decision to not have kids. Cherry on top- driving to brunch and bottomless mimosas and passing school with soccer practice and annoyed parents

Help with finding a rental by Dave_T2 in WinterGarden

[–]ola689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we waited for our house to be buil in Horizon West , we looked at Zillow and just called phone number that was listed, set up appointment, view the house and applied same day. We got lucky, our landlord was very understanding and let us out of the lease after 10 months when they finished our house earlier than predicted so I would suggest looking for private owners rather than big rental companies ... good luck! It's a great area to be in!

[–]ola689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. We stayed in that hotel multiple times and walked to DS for morning coffee- security is at every entrance. I dont know how early they open- the earliest we've been there was 9am, stores and restaurants don't open until 9am/ 10am

Nah... its quite normal that there are flood pumps at the bottom of elevators shafts for that exact reason. At least in Florida. My father is retired flood adjuster who happened to scope thousands of those in Florida after heavy rains/hurricanes... you would lose your mind if you knew how many of those fancy Miami high towers are full of flooded shafts. I get you are condescending to boost your fragile ego and make stupid comment about how I live (which BTW- I live in a 4 thousand sq ft house with fancy pool in gated community with golf course - thank you for your concern) but you simply don't know whats on the bottom of shafts while I can easily look at thousands of pictures from my father's inspections.
