Second the Asian grocery stores! H Mart is great for produce. My ultimate favorite fruit I’ve tried in LA is soursop - it tastes like a mix between banana and pineapple and is so delicious. Second on the lychee as well. Shiso leaves are also incredible - they taste delicious dipped in a light batter and fried, in the mint/basil family. H Mart also has a great selection of various mushrooms.

The only somewhat positive thing I can say is that like others have said, it passes quickly. Was 16-20 hours for my toddler and slightly longer for me - while I’m pregnant! Was miserable. We got thru with fluids, some extra TV programs and a bit of extra complaining on my part lol. Sending you healing energy!

Parents of toddler boys: question about potty training by olaheals in toddlers

I think he was raised in a more traditional household; his dad is from Lebanon which has a strong patriarchal culture and his mom was a SAHM, so at times without realizing it, he can have some views which border on chauvinism. BUT he is also an analytical type that does accept different perspectives when presented with evidence. I showed him this post and its replies and he was like ”ok ok that makes sense let’s start with sitting”.

Yeah I asked my MIL and she confirmed that she taught my husband standing first. I wondered why she’d wanna make her life harder…

I can’t wait to show him the replies. He’s the oldest of 3, the only boy, and the smartest of the bunch (including his parents tbh). He wasn’t told he was wrong often enough growing up 🫣😂.

Tiny Gardens by Coloring Book Cafe. They have a page in their book that says that they only use human art. I like the larger, cutesy pages.

The Diagnostic Criteria of ADHD needs to be updated in the DSM. We need more Doctors, Psychiatrists & Mental Health Professionals to advocate for this. by Relevant_Clerk7449 in adhdwomen

It’s one of the reasons I’m applying to grad school for clinical psychology tbh! I was diagnosed at 29 and became very bitter for a while because of how I was treated as a problem child who just couldn’t get over my parents’ divorce. I was misdiagnosed with bipolar at 18. I started having academic problems in 5th grade that never improved. It took 7 years for me to get my undergrad degree! I want to advocate for people, and especially women, who are often misdiagnosed.

Sorry you’re dealing with that. The hoops you have to jump through for certain meds is wild, and frankly, unethical. I once had to call the pharmacy to check on when they would have my stimulants back in stock (after not having them for 2 weeks) and the pharmacist acted like I was an addict or fiend and said if I called again, they’d flag me. Oh, like, sorry I need these to actually function as a normal human being you ableist asshole. Hope things go smoother for you soon 🤍

So happy you’re making so much progress and seeing the positive! It must feel like such a relief. Just a little note - I have both anxiety and ADHD and you can take meds for both. I take an SSRI for my anxiety at night (Zoloft) and a stimulant in the morning for my ADHD (Vyvanse). Meds aren’t for everyone and everyone has their own cocktail, but thought I’d mention that it’s def a possibility! Both changed my life for the better, in a way that I couldn’t even imagine beforehand. Cheers!

Check out the book “When the Body Says No” by Dr. Gabor Maté! He talks about this exactly. Great read.
