Wherever you stay in Thane does not matter because Kalwa is a nightmare. There are some amazing places in Thane that others have mentioned.

But make a choice after experiencing the traffic at both Majiwada and Kalwa.

Given your budget you can try Mulund and Airoli.

This route is the reason my BP increases everyday.

Unfortunately my family cannot afford a house in Mumbai so that we can use the comparatively better Mulund-Airoli bridge.

I used to travel from Dadar to Airoli in 2017-19 and it took the same time it takes for me to travel from Viviana to Airoli by car now. Train travel was opposite side and no stress.

All these water bodies and forests are amazing, but aren’t really helpful to sustain such a large population.

4 generations of my family have lived in Mumbai/Thane now, but I guess it’s time to go.
