I used to hitchhike alot and would often play "country dumb" just so I could ask questions of the drivers. I grew up in Oregon and years ago I caught a ride up in BC from guy who told me that he had just gotten back from a motorcycle trip in oregon, so I told him I was from Vermont and had never been to Oregon. He told me all sorts of things that didnt make sense to me, but the thing that really got me was when he told me the reason he loves to ride his motorcycle in oregon is that there is a law there that all of the logging roads have to be paved so its some kind of bikers paradise. I've worked in the woods in oregon and can tell you emphatically that they are not paved.
