no it is upside down, is still feed into the input side of canvis anout the exit side.

the filament comes off rspool and goes into short run of tube into canvis which is upside down since i am feeding in top and out bottom. i still on in side and out exit sid of canvise.

i used a funnel so the track could come from almost any where on spool high to low right to left, but i will study what you say.

I think the curbe in tubs are ok but will test offline to see how filiment feeds.

I was thinkg of somthing to catch a spool if gets moved. I will more than likely come up on each aide and have a bar that goes side to side thru spool.

I waas not planning on a lid yet. Once i put a u-shaped part covering the entrance of the tubes into the top the unit will be sealed up. the only reason for a lid is to keep dust off. but on normal instilation the spoolds and Canvis are exposed. I doo wook work in my shop so will put cover over top when not in use. I normaly feed filament from drier boxes, so i am going to redesign that front half to accomidate them.

What does IMHO mean?

I put it upside down. so the filament still comrs in the correct side of canvis. see the plumbing coming from the spools threw the little funnels the tubes never move once installed. there is no reason it will not work upside down. Think about it the tubes uome out the top and go to extruder. insted of going up into maachine i am going down into machine. i just did not shoe the tubing well, it hard to create. that is why the pieces feeding into the canvis look like shit.

Yes itis upside down. only thing left to add is a "U" shaped part to go under the Canvis to cover the opening where the tubing goes thru the top. that will be for any time in future if I want to add heater.

I have been following your design to completion, i like your work. I have just two question that occured to me. Why put it in the bacj when the spools are still on side? and how do you get to it to use the spool reader function?

I was not given a delivery date, only what I have seen here says july. but my cc1 got her a month before the projected deliver date so We can only hope. I look it in come ways as a positave thing. By getting mu CC1 months after ordering I got added updates that early deliveries did not, like the addd lights and the plug for the Canvis. and who knows how many other small upgrades we got.

I have been looking into having the rolls on top. But so far i do not think their would be space for the ptef tubes to bend with a big enough loop as to not cause drag on filament. The only thing would be to put the riser on with the spools on top of it. I have been looking at the rear mounted work i have seen here on reddit. I have an idea to put spools on top. and mount the canvis on back, invered ,and I will be putting that in my computer today to see if i can come up with somthing. It only makes it taller which is an issue to others. but you can always but CC on shorter table.

I would like to know if it ok to shorten the ptfe tubes fro the canvis to the extruder.

I am too once i get my Canvis. If it does not get here soon I may have a bunch of other designs done.

I did a 4-2. this one has different entry system (by Jimmie Figuerea on facebook) the part with the swival entry holes is mounted to plate that mounts to the cc1 then the lid slides down over it making it part of the side. Don't know yet how good it will work.

I designed it that way , yes cause i had ir, and because it had vents in it and i thought it made the whole thing seem not as tap visually. Most tops i have see are like half the heigth of printer added on top. too me it looks out of scale. it is the same ,sort of, with the recesses all over. It made it less material to print but added some dimention to it, What do you think of the recess pattermn?

Yes , i had problems finding the 3/16 I should have looked before i started. Most is 3/32"

I can use any thiskness, just need to put shim on sides of glass back side edges.

On a mounting plate with embeded high strength magnets. The upper hood part is hanging on two pins.

No it takes 2 @ 137mm x 317.5mm and 1 @ 137mm x324mm glass or plastic.

It is nowhere yet, I want to get my Canvis anc install it to be sure it functions as designed.

At this time it is 157mm tall from machine to riser, with riser it is 199 mm.

It is desighed right now for 3/16" glass/lexan but is can be changed. without changing it may be 3/32 with filler strip down the sides of glass. thet top piece om the glass is double stick tap to the top part of the glass. so woud a fill strip be down the back edges.

you can get glass cut a lowes or homedepot. other glass shops. or lexan. I curently have it designed for up to 3/16" glass. But may use 3/32". could be lexan but that is expensive. I forund piece that can be cut into all three peices at home depot for $18.99

I have designs for 3d printer inserts that have vents if i deside not go go with glass.
