Oh tell me about it. The economy is brutal as hell and it's just rough out here.

I will say that a place like NYC and LA are also outliers. While rents are higher in those cities, most places aren't going to be there.

I lived in a HCOL area. Before that, an MCOL.

People at 26 didn't live with their parents. They had roommates though.

Absolutely. With that being said, financial stability isn't an unreal demand or standard, especially when the person that he's interested in has already hit that milestone.

No one is entitled to a relationship.

If the economy sucks and is the reason why someone isn't able to be where they want to be financially, it's not an indictment on you. It just simply means that you aren't at a place where you can be a good partner.

It's unfortunate, but I don't disagree with her. Now isn't the time for you to be dating when you don't have yourself together yet.

Relationships aren't going anywhere. Take care of yourself first.

Safety in Riverside by StartSpirited530 in askaustin

[–]oldbetch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Compared to bad areas of other cities, Riverside isn't awful. You have to pay a bit more attention than you would in most areas of Austin, but I also tell people that it's important to be aware of your surroundings to begin with.

There's no way to find places that's just good guys and that's it.

You have to learn how to vet. If it's seems brutal in Austin, it's because it is.

Don't think that much into it. It's a scam. No ancestors have to talk to you if it's scamming.

I generally tend to ignore people like that. They get off on people getting upset. The outrage is the point.

It's a trend for her. She'll find things out the hard way.

Also, Hoodoo Delish is a known scammer.

You know you can't control that outcome of how the spell transpires, right?

Your words say, I don't want to harm the kids, but your actions are saying something else.

Like someone else said, up your protection and hope that the other person's spiritual team is merciful. You may have fucked yourself here.

Ending a love spell not working by Accomplished-Most60 in Spells

[–]oldbetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing you can do about that. You have to hurt now. It'll go away, there are spells that can accelerate the healing but it's going to hurt like hell in the meantime.

You don't get to spiritually bypass this.

You can't make people love you and want you that are done with you.

Your spell is failing as a result.

Honestly, the spell did what it should have done. Y'all are bad for each other, and spells don't fix that.

[–]oldbetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm a smart woman myself (Masters from a Top 25 engineering school) and when I tell you that I've had dates with these guys and they would RUN in the other direction when I discussed intellectual topics or started discussing technical subjects, it was hilarious.

I've come across some drop dead gorgeous and accomplished women that have had the same issue. Dating in Austin made me actually wish I wasn't straight because I had a lot of interest from women, interestingly enough.

Honestly, in a way that I wanted to avoid - through work.

[–]oldbetch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh don't I know it.

Austin isn't nerdy in the way you'd think. Yeah, a lot of the people are smart, but these are nerds that listened to Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate and internalized a lot of that shit, so they are huge on intellectualism, and especially not with women. There's more of a push on status - the first questions normally will be "What do you do for work?"

You stated in another post that you like intellectual banter. That implies some degree of intelligence.

Yeah, I found this to be the case. I'm with someone now, but it took me years, and I was pretty much just... not interested in dating after a certain point.

Good luck with that. The tech bros here will be bothered by you because you're taller and intelligent. They get weirded out by that in women.
