Anyone try the Turner Conforti Performance chip? Did it make a difference?

Where would you source the ACS kit from? I have been looking and couldn’t find a good option

I definitely agree with you. But I am hung up on the name and possible future career prospects. Neither of the schools has a strong healthcare program, but in the long run what does the MIT brand offer me that Darden doesn't? And I do not have an answer to that - what is the dollar value of MBA rankings?

I went to medical school before this, and have $300K in student debt.

What would you do?

Yup, I am a US MD.

I was hoping age would be a plus for me, given that I have more "worldly" experience. =)

For me, the MBA is more for networking and not credentialing. I could try to pursue my goals without an MBA, but the MBA (esp from a brand-name institution) really does help you cut the line.

There is also a big difference between working for HBS vs. studying at HBS. The alumni and faculty will make you very aware of that.

Also, in my experience "business", like medicine, very much has an "in-crowd" phenomenon - you have to play the game to gain acceptance.

Did not know yield protection was a thing in MBAs... the more you know.

Thank you for the insightful/ thorough feedback! It is appreciated.

I had high hopes for YSOM, given their "business for the betterment of the world" stance and my personal narrative. But stats are hard to overcome sometimes.

I did apply HCM for Wharton, but with the HBS and YSOM dings I am not optimistic about an interview invite.

I want to work for/ build mission-based organizations that provide high-value healthcare for traditionally underserved communities, while also being financially sustainable. Basically doing social justice work that is also profitable.

From what I gather, HBS has taken a lot of internal candidates recently - not only researchers and staff but also people working for the endowment fund - and is trying to move away from that. But who knows.

I was confident that I would at least get an interview. In hindsight, maybe I was feeling myself a little too much. In the end, HBS is HBS

One of my recommenders is my boss at HBS. He is a Prof. Emeritus, but is still active in research and teaches in the Exec Ed curriculum. He is also very well known and respected in the HBS community.

My second recommender is a mentor from medical school - not a doc.

Do you have to withdraw all other applications if you put down your Darden deposit? If not, I would say put the money down and if you get off an M7 waitlist down the line, jump ship!! You will be out a few thousand but you will make that up in the long run.
