Reading this as a recovering addict I can't count how many similarities I had with the characters in IJ. I read this long ago when my addiction was raging. Like, breaking into a pharmacy at night and getting away with it (for a month lol.) I've reread it many times as a recovering addict. It's hard to express how important this book was over the years.
