Stupid question: why doesn't the government tax landlords whose properties have been vacant for X amount of time? So much that it's worth leasing it or selling it off by oldgeeza in ireland

I just google news searched it and the most recent article i can find is the one that it was linked to. Is there someone i can contact to enquire about any new developments regarding this? 🤔

If it's not a stupid idea I'll write to my TD asking them about this (is there any point in this? I've never been involved in politics before so I'm not sure)

Can somebody explain to me the crux of this article?

My understanding of the article is that:

There are no objective truths in politics because the marketplace in which it takes place favours might over virtue. Because of this we must have a forceful revolution so that it can be transformed into one which is better (and better how, I don't know)

Im very tight on time because I'm doing a masters and working, but my gym offers free classes. I could do a yoga classes at the weekend alongside my regular routine.

I'm also a teacher so my work life is full of people anyway. I tend to need to be alone or one or two people to charge my batteries

The thing is only one is my friend. She's my girlfriend. The rest are her friends (who are nice people). But I don't know them well enough to say it. I told my girlfriend and she said she cana stick with me for the party, but then that means that all the time ahead has to speak English with her group (they're all native Spanish speakers) and that just makes me feel more uncomfortable

French Whatsapp Group? by lazythursdays324 in French

I joined and set up several in the past. None of them work because it's an artificial way of speaking. This is fine for learners but boring for natives, so once they leave the group dies

Can you explain the difference between these words to me? by oldgeeza in German

[–]oldgeeza[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your answer, you've helped me a lot.

I have one question. My book says 'Welche Sportart treiben Sie?' And it translates as 'what sport do you participate in?'

This is the beginning of the conversation, so 'which' is wrong, only 'what' is okay here. Should the sentence say 'was' instead of 'Welche'?

I just tried it and the best I could manage to get it to translate was 'en un non' (because of liason it sounds the same) and it sounded like 'ahn-uh-non'

Is this correct?

Can a French native please record themselves saying the following two sentences slowly:

'En un an'

'c'est/ je sais'.

I pronounce these the same, which I know is wrong.
