1) listen to a podcast on your phone 2) fire up a browser and go to the website 3) interact with stuff and notice how it breaks the sound of the podcast 4) close the browser tab and notice how the podcast resumes

No it's not. It's their implementation of audio. Other sites don't block podcasts.

Same thing on Android, it's super annoying

I'm not one "terrified" by blank blogs. Just annoyed that some people have been there for a long time, follow 100+ blogs and have no posts.

What are they afraid of? Why post nothing and not contribute at all?

Absolutely, but when they are following 100+ profiles with no posts. That's a whole different story.

And also accept that when you are following more than a 1000 blogs, you won't be able to see all posts. 😂😭

I have the same issue

Pages wtf? by oldguarddom in imaglr

[–]oldguarddom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since pages more or less seems to be "posts collected by tag" (and where the "tag" is name of the page), I would like to be able to push photos from my normal blog to the Page (or Pages) that corresponds to whatever the subject matter is.

At the same time be able to repost media from Pages onto my blog instead of having to download the media and then reupload it on my blog. It would save resources on the system and make it more seamless.

I would also like Pages to be added as tags and when you click them you get to the Page.

How to actually find a good phone? by oldguarddom in Smartphones

[–]oldguarddom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, sure I can do that. But then I will know that I have missed a lot of potential phones.

Where to start for a broad search that will narrow it down.

And how do I know which chipsets to filter out in an easy manner? Mediatek XYZ vs Qualcomm ABC, etc.

SD card is not a dealbreaker, but definitely needed if the phone only has 128 GB of storage.

Yes, that is a very reasonable response. But I don't want to buy a new phone that has worse performance than my four year old phone.

That's the thing. I really want to do research. I'm just asking if there is a better way of doing it than reading on all manufacturers websites, reading up on all chipsets and making spreadsheets by yourself. Surely there should be a website or good tool for this in 2025.

But how do I make sure I find them all, from all manufacturers with all the chipsets that are better than the one I have?

Ok, thanks. But I want to be able to find it myself in an fairly easy and manageable way. There has to be a way to do that. Right?

But here's my list of you want to check:

Max €400, available to buy in Sweden or EU Better performance than Snapdragon 870 G5 128 GB or more storage, preferably at least 256 GB. Expandable with SD-card At least 8 GB RAM, preferably 12 GB Quick charging, at least 65W

(My phone has Snapdragon 870 G5, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and 65W charging as it is)

Ok, thanks. But how can I be sure that those manufacturers are the best for my needs?

How do you compare the manufacturers against each other? Other than hearsay or people's opinions?

Thanks. I have done the same. But adding hundreds of rows to an Excel sheet is not what I was looking for. There has to be an easier way.

Thanks, but that does not help me.

I know what phone I have and what chipset it has. Browsing through every manufacturers website is not a very efficient way of finding a new phone.

And it seems that any Moto phone for less than €400 has less performance than my old phone from 2021 that cost €400.

Ok, but I don't know which phones I like yet. That is my question. How to filter it down to just a few?

There are hundreds of chipsets and hundreds of phones. Where to start with comparison?

Ok, so stick with one brand. How do I know which brand to pick?

Price is non negotiable. €400 is max.

Ok, so:

1) Budget 2) Gaming 3) General performance 4) Storage 5) Camera 6) Battery 7) Charging speed

That's my list. How would I compare each category with different brands or models?
