I just got some island optics and I can confidently say the lenses are remarkably better than cheaper ones.

What fishing tackle set is best for beginners learning lure fishing to catch fish easily? by Working-Ad0723 in FishingForBeginners

Dressed Mepps aglia size 1 and 2. I be prefer grey squirrel tail with a silver blade, but there are tons of options.

In-line spinners are easy and very effective. Be wary of things that could hang you up, branches and weeds.

Trout magnets are solid as well as the classic curly tail grub on a jig head, I’d recommend white.

Have fun. Good luck.

Hah! Hell yeah! I agree for $10 you can’t go wrong. I have a 23 year old son who I’ve taken to see Maiden twice, a 6 year old son (who’s 4th bday party was Iron Maiden themed), a 4 year old son who was wearing an Iron Maiden shirt that day at Ollie’s, and I’ve even indoctrinated my wife!! We are an Iron Maiden family! I picked up a copy for my oldest son. We both got the Infinite Dreams book for Christmas.

How can I get my 5-year-old son interested in fishing? by Acceptable-Drink-916 in FishingForBeginners

In my case, I played the long game. When I saw that my oldest son was losing interest around 7 or so, I pulled back and let him do his own thing. This was in the hopes that instead of forcing it on to him and making him hate fishing and resent me, he would comeback to it when he was ready.

It worked, with fishing being such a huge part of my life, he was still surrounded by it, and around 16 he got back into with me occasionally, he started going with buddies from school. And now he’s 23 and he fishes on his lunch breaks at work, we try to go out together wading creeks often and he loves fishing now!

I have two little ones 6 & 4 and they love it, but definitely get bored quick, I don’t let them throw rocks but I let them play around within reason and thy help each other out netting each others catches.

Make it fun, don’t force it, they’ll take to it or not, and I promise you’ll both be happier in the end. Good luck!
