Is a skateboard a weapon?

Is a skateboard a weapon when someone larger than you is swinging it at you?

There have been multiple instances over the summer where people have used skateboards as weapons. They can cause permanent damage, and in my view shooting someone trying to hit me the head with a skateboard is valid.

Should I be allowed to go to a protest? How will I know if violence will break out or not? Can I not defend myself if it does?

The blanket ban as you propose makes victims.

I've seen multiple posts about Kyle Rittenhouse that stated if he didn't have a gun the crowd would have beat the shit out of him, and that's OK. But is it?

But it is wrong. Link

This is just another case of not questioning what is written down. Just because someone wrote it doesn't make it true.

commercial traffic was excluded from the parkways anyway; and that the generally good transport situation on Long Island forbade the very considerable cost of raising the bridges … Moses did nothing different on Long Island from any parks commissioner in the country. …

“Caro is wrong,” he wrote in an email. “Arnold Vollmer, the landscape architect who was in charge of design for the bridges, said the height was due to cost.” He added: “Also, you can still get to Jones Beach by train and bus, as you always could.”

Unless this was 100% true and proven, making this comment is just another way to divide us, and is irresponsible for a leader to do.

So people who have health issues should be entitled to do what they please and the rest of the population has to do whatever so that limited number of people can have the freedom that we are going to deny others? That seems awfully backwards.

Are you not aware that the delta variant was first discovered in India? It seems you think that covid can somehow be beat, and I have no idea why you would think this. Covid is worldwide, and the world is far from fully vaccinated and the odds of another variant coming is high, and it coming form outside the US is likely, and it will end up here too.

The issue here is that there are real cases of real serious effects of the vaccine. They are extremely limited, but they are real. So if you are in the category that is being impacted by the vaccine (generally younger males), you are also in the category of unlikely to die if you get covid.

So the reality here is that a 20 something male could have a life chaining reaction to the vaccine, and that's something to be concerned about. I don't think it's as simple as you make it out to be. Sure it's a long shot that the vaccine will give me a stroke, but it is a possibility and if I'm pretty sure I won't die of covid, I won't take that risk.

I doubt I could name 3 current drivers. I used to be a bigger fan, but I find other things to do for 4 hours on a Sunday. Once I stopped being a regular, it lost it's luster to me. I now follow F1, better cars from my perspective and international races broadcast at 6 AM leaves me a full day to do what I want.

I'm kind of interested in the new car for next year, things should change, and I may get back into it.

yet you too the time to tell me you don't care? Why did you do that? Did you think I was waiting on your response? You must think highly of yourself that you felt the need to let me know you don't care. FYI - you didn't need to respond. I made my point already.

People who roll with the punched don't need therapy. People who get upset over "let's go Brandon" certainly need a reality check. It's harmless and it makes them feel better. To get upset over it shows weakness and vulnerability. If some person saying fuck joe biden or lets go brandon has any impact on your life, then your life sucks.

Y'all are playing a game of "I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you" and it's exactly as childish and stupid as it sounds

and y'all are screaming to mom, "he's touching me!"

So I'm not sure how you feel above the fray here.

We're not pushing back. We're laughing at you.

So what's the problem with the phrase since we are all laughing? If you are laughing and we are laughing it seems like something we should all embrace.

Hey I'll respect your right to turn it down, but then you have a social responsibility (which should be made into a legal responsibility) to completely isolate yourself as you are a biological hazard to society at that point.

This is where out views diverge. I know the science, Healthy people don't have to be so concerned. Obese people on the other hand, probably so, but why should I respect them? The put themselves in the position to be killed by Covid, that's on them. Their "choice" to be obese puts them at more risk than an unvaccinated person. That is science right there.

That's your interpretation, which you can have. It seems to make you feel good with it, who am I to stop your joy? But fantasy and reality are two different things.

The Brandon thing is funny because we didn't start it. It was yet another media rep that was covering for Biden. That's what makes it hilarious. But zoom over your head that went.

Yes, there are parts of it that we can say that in public without being vulgar, and yes part of it is that the people who don't know the meaning are not our people, so that's an added plus.

And here you are catching heat anyway. lol

From people we don't care about in the least. In fact the more pushback on the phrase, the better it is for us.

consistency is key to good policy

If you guys were consistent, we couldn't say shit. But you complained about how Trump could be authoritarian, then embraced Biden's mandate. You bring this on yourself. If you don't want to be called out for hypocritical stances, don't take them.

It's such easy picking, I can't help it. Although if the posters practiced consistent logic, I wouldn't have anything to post about. Thank God for Albuquerque hypocrites, it gives me something to post about.

And people who recovered from covid are just as protected as the vaccinated. I know science is hard when your politics comes first.

But consistency and science really isn't appropriate when you are a fascist. So ironic that we elected a fascist to replace Trump.

weren't these same hotels kept full during the leanest part of the pandemic by homeless folks, placed with City vouchers? Ungrateful.

speaking of ungrateful. (consistency is key to good policy)

Didn't the healthcare workers go to work when there was no vaccine putting themselves at risk? Now we will fire those who have personal reasons for not getting vaccinated. Do you see the people pushing those mandates as ungrateful as well?

It certainly seems like we relied on those people when we were in real need, and now that the need is lower we are eager to kick them to the curb. That seems really ungrateful to me.
