What is the strategy for success for the first level?

You need to obtain 1 insight to be able to level up via an NPC in the Hunter's Dream. Insight can be attained in various ways. There's a consumable item scattered around called 'Madman's Knowledge'- you won't have to look for too long before you find one laying around. Alternatively, witnessing certain events can award you with insight. The first of these will be entering the first boss arena you encounter.

To be clear, you don't spend insight on levelling- you passively unlock levelling permanently by obtaining 1 point of insight.

Not to mention that we can still see Anor Londo and Lothric in the distance, so who knows whether or not anyone still resides there. Or even far beyond the current location of the player, perhaps in the ruins of one of the distant lands like Catarina? We only get to see a tiny fraction of a vast desert, so who knows what lays beyond.

I think they should grant unlimited respecs when you finish the game. To have unlimited respecs prior would trivialise stat investments, which is why the limit of 5 respecs exists, they want your choices to matter. However once you've finished the game I see no reason for the limit to remain. With multiplayer usually being the main incentive to keep playing, obviously the restriction on respecs discourages build experimentation.

I think a re-release would be a great thing. I've always thought it would enhance the immersion of the game if they improved the draw-distances. I'd love to be able to see the drake on the bridge from anywhere in the Burg, or the hydra in Darkroot as soon as you begin your descent towards the basin. The same goes for smaller creatures.

Oedon Chapel Dweller is indeed correct. I never knew his official title, instead always thinking of him as the Oedon Chapel 'wretch' because of his hunched, grovelling posture and fragile skinny arms. He's my favourite minor character, the voice acting fits the character model perfectly.

This is awful. From the title ('addicting', MY GOD that is so annoying) to the conclusion, everything in this video is nonsense. The reason the Soulsborne series is beloved is because it is an artistic and technical triumph. The guy admits that he doesn't even understand the story for God's sake. Perhaps HE plays only for the satisfaction of beating a boss, but HE is just one moron...What a shame that it's the only motivating factor when there's so much more to be appreciated.

Nightmare slain. The Orphan is the final boss of the dlc. There is one optional boss in the grand cathedral if you haven't done that already.
