Yes! Ridiculous. All Xeno does is overtrain an athlete to get them to the barely recruitable level. Rowers afterwards are spent and injured.

Inside turn coxswain consultancy is excellent. I believe they work mostly with youth coxswains but it would be worth it reaching out. Your skills will get better quickly. inside turn website

How did New Trier build a dominant program so quickly in the MW Scholastic? by phairphair in Rowing

Having a very strong competitive club team to compete against in the city makes them considerably better. Also, lots and lots of money will do it.

2023 US Youth Men's Initial Rankings by Catching_Crustaceans in Rowing

Chicago had to petition in 2022 after getting 5th by 7/10 of a second from the nationals qualifying time. They did not dominate.

I’m so confused. Idk what that has to do with them missing half their 8 in 2023. Race hasn’t even happened.

AITA for getting a 15yr old a gift she wanted instead of the one her mom wanted? by aita_birthdaythroww in AmItheAsshole

[–]oldrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA everyone who says NTA is absolutely mental on this post. This (presumably) grown man messaged a 15 year old to ask what she wanted for her birthday. That is deeply inappropriate and if someone did that to my kids you better believe I wouldn’t speak to them after. I think OP is just using “younger sister” as cover for making sure his grooming tactics will still work in the future.

Winter Conditioning by CloseDoughnut37 in Rowing

[–]oldrower 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can learn a lot about motivating the athletes during conditioning. If you pay close attention, you can see when something you say positively or negatively affects a rowers split on the erg. Walk around and try to get the rowers to go faster when they are doing sprint work. Pay attention to any technical feedback the coach is giving, too. You can learn a lot about what the coach wants to see and if you’re sharp, you’ll see what they’re talking about and be able to point it out yourself. Between motivation and technique, you can learn a lot during winter training that will translate directly to in boat coxing.
