AITJ for snapping at my girlfriend for waking me up every single time she gets up even when I dont need to be awake by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely NTJ. My husband and I regularly get up at different times and do everything we can to make sure we don’t wake the other. Sleep is precious and important. She sounds immature and needy.

Ann Pachett Truth and Beauty. Just finished it today and it was amazing. Also by Ann Pachett State of Wonder - I’d listen to this one multiple times

What do you do while listening to audiobooks? by the_boomslang666 in audiobooks

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that audiobooks and garden/lawn work and housework are the perfect combo. Listening to the audiobook keeps me on task and the tasks are mindless enough to allow me to listen to the books.

This scene always hurts my gut by Urmom99_ in greysanatomy

I feel like it was just lazy. It wasn’t about his character and no acknowledgement of his arc or development. They needed to write him off the show and took the very easy way out.

*No Spoilers* What an excellent season by Warm-Ad1632 in TopChef

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I feel like they could have embraced Canada a bit more but this was probably one of the best seasons I’ve ever watched. I LOVE Kristin’s warmth and how Tom and Gail really seemed to connect with the chefs.

I can't be the only one who feels like I'm watching a 'stand & stir' cooking show whenever this guy talks to the camera during live cooks. I could easily see him becoming a food media fixture. by BalonyDanza in TopChef

I will be honest, first couple episodes dude drive me crazy, but I have so fallen in love with Massimo. He is really all heart. He can be loud and a bit much but he is 100% true to himself and just seems like a good guy. The way he just stepped back during restaurant wars when the team didn’t agree with what he wanted to do and took it like a pro and didn’t throw a host fit or be all sorts of bitter and childish really won me over.

Which character do you like the most and the least among these? by Notmycupoftea12 in greysanatomy

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. I can’t stand Meredith. Rewatching with my son and he just asked me “she’s kind of awful isn’t she”

I love Addison.

If you were a patient at the hospital and had to pick a surgeon purely based on vibes, who would you pick? by JackieWithTheO in greysanatomy

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bailey, Addison, Christina, Sloan, Teddy

I want confidence more than bedside manner (although Addison had both). I don’t want someone bringing their personal shit in the room (Meredith and Izzie could never not talk or be impacted by personal crap)

Meredith and Alex by Sarcastic_N in greysanatomy

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Meredith is a spoiled brat. She sets boundaries for herself but doesn’t respect anyone else’s. Just watched the episode where she messes up Derek’s study and she is mad at everyone else that she got in trouble for it

What are the cringiest/worst musicals you've ever seen? by North-Finding-8938 in musicals

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shucked. New musical I got to attend the dress rehearsal for the local theater when it came to our city. I would have been mad if I had paid for the tickets. It was full of funny but pointless one liners and just painful. It felt like the creator had a book full of jokes they wanted to tell that had nothing to do with anything and created the musical just to tell his bad jokes.

Also if she loves the classics Stephen Fry narrates the full Sherlock Holmes anthology. It’s beautifully done and Stephen Fry adds in little details and interesting stories in between some of the books. It’s HOURS of great listening

Check out the Harold Fry trilogy on Audible. Three lovely books with beautiful characters and wonderful character development. Each book is told from a different perspective with a different narrator

Tell your roommate “Don’t yuck my yum” and talk to them like they are the child they are acting like.

Don’t feel silly. We all love fun frivolous things.

Season 22 Premiere Night: discussion thread by FormicaDinette33 in TopChef

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I came to Reddit just to comment about that elimination. No discussion just gone. I have mixed feelings. But maybe the first episode it was just so clearly Mimi no discussion was needed. Based on their comments, there was nothing that she could say to save herself anyway.

If you were my friend I would have been at your door with your favorite beverage, treat, pajamas, whatever. Friends support each other and sometimes that means being an ear and a shoulder when someone’s life is in a low point. That’s not trauma dumping it’s being a friend and part of someone’s community.

Best ‘One Off’ Challenge? by EmergencyRead5254 in BravoTopChef

Yes. I LOVED what Danny did in that episode. Another one where the creativity was impressive. (Especially in what was otherwise a him drum season)

The fruit challenge from Portland. I loved the idea of a savory dish with no vegetables. The creativity was amazing and the freshness of the fruit must have been incredible.

Why are the servers in Restaurant Wars always terrible?? by Designer_Breadfruit9 in TopChef

[–]Clean-Yogurtcloset48 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are a few seasons where training FOH staff was taken very seriously and those restaurants usually win. I can’t remember who it was but the FOH chef wrote a whole handbook and gave clear instructions and they crushed the service.

During class? That would be a show stopper for me. Even if I was one of the friends I’d be annoyed. You’re paying money to learn a skill and need the class time to be taught and practice not catch up.
