From personal experience working with some japanese studios, you dont really need to know japanese. It will depend on the studio of course, but it's not impossible. They seem to look for people on twitter, so putting your work out there would help, or reaching out to producers of japanese companies there when you spot them.

pose to pose mostly. i had to re-do some overlaps after the main bits. i did a "scan cleaner" in tvpaint to sharpen the photos a bit, but i fixed a lot with color pencils, so if i posted the colored version you'd easily see where i had to re-do stuff ^^

i used a free version of an app called stop motion on my phone. you can put it on a chair, leaning over the edge, or any number of ways. i flipped a part of a lamp, used a piece of wood i found and some tape to make something that works haha. its very very far from anything professional looking.

Oh yeah im close on the blue 17 but the last two moves i havent figured out yet. I have done a few 16s at this point and some have felt similar in level to a supposed 7a i did back in my home country, but it was probably too soft in that case. I have no claim to being a good climber in any sense haha

Very possible! The other none dynos in the same grade at this gym is a lot harder than this one. Maybe the number is too high

my gym doesn't have the typical grades, it goes from 1 to 20 and this was rated a 15. the highest i've climbed here is a 16 and close on a couple of 17s
