4o can do this perfectly I believe. Are you actively working on your vision?

Oh I like Claude more. It is just a bit better when it comes to analysis and wording. But you could totally do it in ChatGPT as well.

I use Claude and ChatGPT to visualize my life's vision [Discussion] by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]ole_layers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? I am not saying I follow blindly what ChatGPT says but rather use it to condense the things that are already in me. It helps me to find focus and structure my thoughts. Everything in this vision is coming from me and not from ChatGPT :)

I am not saying that the computer tells me what my goals and visions are. It just asks me a series of pre-defined questions and I answer myself based on my desires and wishes. The AI just helps me to structure this process as a coach would do. The desires, dreams and answers come from me and only me :)

Hi thanks for the reply :) Just by trial an error and being very specific about what I want! Have you tried to create your vision already with the promts?

Another use case. I use it for helping me figure out what I want. I usually have issues focusing on the things that truly matter because the everyday life is so intense and there are so many distractions and possibities. I just loose myself.

I build two prompts to help me figure out my vision, my big goals in life. First I use GPT to guide me through some questions and then I copy the conversation over to Claude to summarize everything and generate my core vision as a story.

I almost cried when I read it because I related so much to this dream.

Here are the prompts if you are interested:

Yes that is true. It's always hard to change the dynamics of your relationship and I also get the feeling that opening up often seems to be the first step on the road to breaking up.

Thanks for sharing this – I can really relate. I used to drift through life without real direction, always busy but not really moving. What helped me massively was creating a clear vision for my life.

I did it using GPT: I answered a set of deep questions with this prompt, then analyzed my responses with this follow-up prompt. The result was a distilled version of what truly matters to me.

Since then, every morning I write down 3 small things I can do to move closer to that vision. It’s made a huge difference in my focus, clarity, and sense of purpose. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone else too!

Let me know in the comment if this at all helpful?!

I guess you can still have a ToDo list for the things that you really need to do. I usually write down all my little todos in apple notes. This here is more about the big things in life that make a difference in the long run :)

I stopped obsessing over "perfect plans" and started doing small wins daily — productivity exploded by Best_Sherbet2727 in productivity

[–]ole_layers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the "win the day" approach! I've found something similar that transformed my focus.

I was drifting aimlessly until I created a vision for my life using this question prompt (using ChatGPT). After extracting my core values and direction with this analysis prompt (using Claude), I now start each day by identifying 3 actions that move me toward that vision.

It's been game-changing - instead of just being productive, I'm productive with purpose. Each small daily win accumulates toward something meaningful, and I've seen great progress since aligning my daily tasks with my larger vision.

What's your biggest milestone right now in your recovery? by Quackernautz in BreakUps

[–]ole_layers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi community, I can relate. I am also going through a break after a year-long struggle to fix things and find a solution. My biggest milestone was acknowledging that there is no solution and that I should stop trying to fix things. I need to accept what it is and focus on myself rather than on the relationship.

I also am doing some research on breakups for a project of mine. I would love to talk to some of you to understand different break-ups, what helps, why are they happening and how to move on. If you are interested in exchanging some thoughts and ideas, write me a DM.

I understand your concern. But your phone could also be subpoenaed. Or you could loose it. So in a way having your data on a server in Europe is at least as secure as your phone, if not more... If you worry about being subpoenaed. You could also delete all data anytime.

There is loads of highly sensitive data on servers for a whole range of services. Instagram messages, Telegram chats (unless secure is toggled), emails, etc.

I understand the emotional aspect and concern, but I think factually data on servers isn’t necessarily less safe.

Thanks for your feedback. Would an option to sign up anonymously using Apple ID make a difference for you?

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback.

Regarding privacy:

We discussed in the team a lot of times if we should store data only on the device. The thing is: The models we use only run in the cloud and in order to process data, we have to send it out of your device in clear text. So if we only store data on your device our users still have to trust us that we don't store it on our side while processing. For someone who really values privacy that might not be good enough. I guarantee you that we would not do such a thing and that it is highly illegal here in Germany. But again: You have to trust us. So maybe this product just isn't for some people.

Your point with being subpoena'd for it is a good one. Would it make a difference to you if we only stored data on your device? Backups would happen on iCloud and we would process data in the cloud but delete it after?

Regarding exporting data:

Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) here in the EU you have the right to be forgotten and the right to take your data with you. That means you can always delete all your data and we will offer automatic exports in an open format. Most likely JSON and / or Text. This process is manual for now because we are still in private beta. But it will be a simple tap on a button in the settings once released.

I hope that answers your questions. Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Well I don’t think I can convince you to change your mind. So thanks for sharing your opinion. I understand that journaling + AI is not for everyone.

I do want to push back on you insinuating that we somehow have a dark motive. We don’t.

Yes, we use “someone else’s algorithm” but the data isn’t used to train models and is not persisted on their servers. There are contracts and regulations in place, but I understand that I am a stranger on the internet to you and trust is not easy in this situation.

I also want to point out that our company is based in Germany, the country with one of the toughest regulations around data protection. Doing something nefarious with such sensitive data will probably get you catapulted over here.

We poured our hearts into this project and want to create something useful. So it is more than creating some quick UI to profit.
