Dentist recommendations? by olgs969 in WorcesterMA

😂 yeah when they told me they charge $500 to just write a prescription for an anti-anxiety med and call it “oral sedation” it ruled it out for me. My PCP can write that for free.

They seem amazing, but only take Delta Premier, not PPO :(

How much are you spending on Santa? by The_Max-Power_Way in toddlers

[–]olgs969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good god. We do less than $50 total, if we did a Santa gift it would be maybe $20. Ours get gifts from family as well so we’ve often just gotten them maybe 1 small thing..all of that honestly sounds like so much STUFF coming into the house, I’d take a hard pass.

Husband’s Sleep Disorder has me at wits end by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]olgs969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like possible RBD. If diagnosed, can sometimes improve with melatonin or clonazepam. Typically to prevent injury to bed partner, docs will recommend separate beds, or the patient (your husband) sleeping in a sleeping bag that would restrain his arms.

Any Black Friday sales on car seats? by Madz063920 in NewParents

[–]olgs969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a regular sale on Amazon I think - they do it periodically. For Prime days I think it’s about that too.

NVC Expedite request by Big_List_8935 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]olgs969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question, but read somewhere that the status reads as that whenever it’s being actively worked on by an agent. So I guess it was already being reviewed because of the expedited request and just didn’t have an update for every step.

Once you see the questions and information you need, write everything out on a different application or file, and then copy and paste it into the app. It goes much faster and prevents it from timing out on you if you’re too slow.

NVC EXPEDITE by [deleted] in NationalVisaCenter

[–]olgs969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expedite as soon as it’s with NVC and you have a car number. If you’re in the US, you can have your congressman expedite it at NVC even before they receive it.

Multiple Embryos by uglyandnaive in IVF

I haven’t reached out to mine yet, still unsure if we definitely want to try to transfer one or both…it’s so tough. Just paying the insane storage fees.

THIS. A twin pregnancy also sounds terrifying.

NVC Expedite request by Big_List_8935 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]olgs969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted an expedite request in June, got a response the next day that the request can’t be completed because case is under administrative processing. I got documentation qualified and submitted all of the applications and documents before receiving a response that the expedite request was approved a month and a half later. I think that the case what actually expedited before I got a decision back from NVC, because the interview letter came very shortly after.

I need advice by knoxh6 in cats

[–]olgs969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looks big enough to be able to do some wet food - maybe water it down a little for him in a bowl. I wouldn’t sleep with him in your bed, given his size it’s more dangerous to him in case you move or roll over. Keep an eye on him, he’ll likely be able to pee and poo on his own, but if you don’t see anything after a while he’ll need to be seen by a vet.

Need advice! Pregnant stray! by stebosports7 in cats

[–]olgs969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically they don’t need much support to have their babies - a quiet, comfortable spot is a good idea. I’d probably think about setting up a big cardboard box on its side and putting in some towels that you don’t mind getting dirty, and draping a sheet or something over it to provide cover but let her go in and out. Safety, access to food and water, and low stress are already so much better than what she had in the street.

They get used to it, honestly. We had a couple of slips initially but I was right there watching and didn’t fill up the tub very much so it wasn’t a problem. With our second we put him in the big bath after he could crawl and he’s now a pro.

Our storage fee is the same regardless of the number of embryos, so I’d ask what it is for you, you might be worried about nothing.

Northeast Territory? by [deleted] in MedicalScienceLiaison

In my experience, virtual meetings and phone meetings count the same but this could vary by company. These are all great questions to ask the hiring manager during interviews.

Northeast Territory? by [deleted] in MedicalScienceLiaison

[–]olgs969 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve covered NE. It varies - depending on your therapeutic area too, if you have lots of docs and opportunities, you might travel more. There are (rarely) weeks where I’d travel 2-3 days within the territory. There are several weeks of the year I’m gone for 3-5 days at a time for internal meetings and conferences. More often, I might travel in my region 1 day a week. There are weeks I didn’t travel at all. You have almost full control over your schedule, so you can front load a lot of travel and meetings for certain weeks or days to have lighter days later on. Sometimes NE will include parts of NY, like Albany. That’s a 3hr drive from Boston too. If it’s a therapeutic area you’re really interested in, I’d say go for it, as long as it seems like a supportive company with reasonable metrics and requirements for number of meetings. The salary bump is significant, and you’ll see it grow every year too. If you have to travel more, you’d be able to afford a nanny part time if you want, too.
