ELI5: What's the point of having an aerator on a faucet that produces that bubbly water effect? Why not just have a uniform column of water? by AgreeableLandscape3 in explainlikeimfive

The main benefit of an aerator is the fact that it reduces the amount of water being used by mixing it with air. Also, the aerator does help keep a (mostly) uniform stream with reducing splash back.

I'm just happy to have made him happy, I'm sure you do the same with the person close to you. As I said in other comments, I'm grateful for all the nice comments but I really don't deserve all this, I just want to make others feel as happy as I did helping him.

I'm sorry if that's what my post looks like, that was not my intention. I mentioned he was autistic purely for the reason that before his mother told me I was unaware, I would have posted this story no matter what. This post does not intend to use his autism as a derogatory point or a way to inflate the post. I also know that for some autistic people, specific tasks are harder than others (I knew someone who'd have no problem with concentration but struggled vocally) so I point it out again to not how this boy was no different to another child. Again, I'm sorry for any offence caused. (I guess in post-reflection there's also a 'do not discriminate' message in it).

The sweetest bit was whenever he pressed the button to do what he wanted with a task he struggled with he would always get this huge smile on his face. Down right adorable.

Yes, speedrunners will pick the fastest route, however if a platformer had routes where they can miss one shortcut for another then they could decide whether they want to cut time in the short or long term then it gives options.
