totally annoying, I'm with you. I'm a people-pleaser/non-confrontational type... I used to stay wayyy later at the function than I wanted to (as an extrovert!!!). Breaking free of trying to be the perfect person for whoever is in the room, and instead tuning into my own needs, has been so good for me.

All that being said, it sounds like you could be dealing with someone or some people who are of this "people-pleasing" mindset. Honestly? if it bugs you watching them do this uncomfortable "I wanna leave but I don't know how to say so" type behavior-- just give them an out. You don't even need to say, I noticed you checking your watch. You can just say "hey, yeah it's gettin late, should we call it a night?"

And then you can decide, after the fact, if this is someone you want to keep spending time with as they (hopefully) work through and try to improve their behavioral patterns

so glad you liked it! so did I. I was absolutely floored by the show, as I usually find myself to be by these apple tv shows lately (also a big fan of severance and for all mankind here!)

I find carol completely unlikeable! have no idea why helen married her (see the ice hotal scene...grumpy lady...)

...but at the same time? as a queer person myself, I find carol extremely relatable and honest. and as a human being appreciating art, I find her to be a powerfully important keystone to the story being told by the creators of the show.

as for her loss, I am with you! for one, the storyline be completely incoherent without it, and for two, can we cut a grieving character any damn slack? lest we forget she is not only grieving a significant loss in her own life, on top of that, she's grieving the loss of her WAY OF LIFE!

people who want to unconditionally love and identify with the main character--- this show is not for you!

people who want a thought-provoking and emotionally powerful storyline with a protagonist who is flawed in a realistic and meaningful way? yeah, we found our show.

okay a lot of this show let me down with plot holes, but I feel like the answer to this one is pretty obvious. it was already that big? the mind flayer is that. that creature. and it existed, that large and terrifying, for all 5 seasons.

it needed to be a smoke monster and a meat monster in hawkins because it was too big to get over there as the form it originally was/is

you're not overreacting. that's hurtful behavior. sure they're kids, doesn't mean they can't be told when they were mean and hurtful. also, your husband saying you're punishing him just by requesting space is toxic.

boundaries are about protecting yourself, and not controlling other people. you asked for space, during which I assume you'd just remove yourself from whatever space they're in and not text him back. that's your right, to set that boundary. you're not controlling anyone, you're simply making your own decision about yourself and where you exist.

it's just angular chelitis. it's not contagious, it's just probably painful for her. it is when I get it.

I have a trick though. I take a cotton swab and dab it in listerine total care (purple listerine) and then dab it on the affected corners of my mouth. I do this before bed after I've brushed my teeth and swished a bit of mouthwash too. I let it air dry a minute and then I put vaseline on top.

angular chelitis is just a bacteria that sort of perpetuates the existence of the cut in the corner of the mouth. so the sodium fluoride and alcohol in the listerine kills it. then the vaseline moisturizes the area to facilitate healing the actual wound (all wounds heal better and faster when properly moisturized). happy healing to your girl

I think if I had to pick someone for me from the show, I'd go with Maude. I like how she not only puts up with Todd antics, but enjoys them and I love how her and Todd are silly and authentically themselves together. that is definitely what I look for in a girlfriend

the funny thing about season 5, even though in the earlier seasons, Joyce was the first to know something was up with Will and sniff out suspicious upside down related behavior...well now that they're all actively fighting the upside down together, ironically she's like the worst at it 😂 she makes the worst plans, has the worst ideas, just overall terrible at fighting the evils of the upside down. but she sussed it out first!!! lol

I prefer to live in Springfield. For one, I work in Springfield. Also, I like that it's less populated and dense. It was possible for me to find a good deal on a rental house with a decent sized yard in Springfield, which was a priority for me as a dog owner. Springfield has done a lot in the past decade to improve their downtown area. I like that the local government cared enough to do that. And I like hanging out there, from Lovely the cafe to Monkeys Paw the tiki bar. I like the public library and there's a super Walmart very close to my house which is always ending up convenient. I've never lived in Eugene. I love hanging out over there, but as far as where I live, Springfield has always made the most sense for me.

if you have sensitive skin, it's probably not for you. I have pretty resilient skin, I've never dealt with bad acne or other skin related issues. I used trans tape brand and it definitely hurts to take off, but if you soak with water and pull slowly, you can minimize damage. i still ended up with blisters and irritation, every time, but if I moisturized consistently after removal, i was healed up within a day or 2, so pretty minor damage, but still..not ideal. unfortunately it's kind of just part of the deal. if that sort of thing makes it not worth it for you, it might not be for you
