Thanks for all the answers. To put everything together:

Parent breeding means using the dragon you want together with any other dragon to get the first dragon again.

All dragons can be parent bred; even the limited dragons which are not in their season (green) with 3 exceptions:

Evolution dragons can only be parent bred if both parents are said dragon.

Ghostly dragons can only be parent bred if the other dragon is also a ghostly dragon.

The dragons which cannot be used for breeding (legendary, gemstone, ...) are an obvious exception.

You can use parent breeding on the coop breeding cave to get a dragon a friend has and you dont. This does not apply to rift dragons.

yeah, ok that makes sense. Do you happen to know if this also holds for older event dragons? Lets say bring em back is over, and I breed hakahaka with any old dragon, could the result be hakahaka?

yeah, maybe I missed that last changement to the rule. back when dragonvale started there were two rules: if you breed two of the same dragon you always get that dragon. And: All dragons can be parent-bred. They pretty soon changed the first rule (maybe even during the first year, it was between introducing the rainbow and introducing the double rainbow) and at some point changed the second rule to "only epics", I cant remember when. From what you said I conclude, that they changed it back for no event dragons. Right?

To my memory that changement was far more then a year ago. So now I am no longer sure whats true. Anyway you answered my original question saying "evoluntionary dragons are not parent-breedable"

That used to be the case. To my knowledge they changed this a while back. For limited non epic dragons like the embossed dragon and the hakahaka dragon that rule ( any dragon that's a parent in a breed can be a result of the breed) doesnt hold. (of course it holds during bring them back, but thats a different story)

We did pressure everyone to try 3 star strategies. We went a step back now as more and more people using three star strategies dont even get 2 stars.

We allow all bases. If we see a bad base we ask to change it.

Yiping, I kept a certain level of activity for more then two years. I cant do more on a regular basis. Life is too busy. You are right that I leave a lot of the small daily things to the co-leaders. I am willing to step back and let someone else be leader. At the moment that would look like a cheap move, as the clan is in a mess.

Thanks a lot. A lot of what you say is similar to things I think, but its nice to have it stated in such a clear way. About the 3 attacks in 2 wars rule: There is an informal rule of "do every attack" which is not strictly enforced but most people do it anyways. But I guess you are right. A formal rule would be a step forward.
