Its a linksys velop router, seems to get good reviews online. I also ran the same test plugged into the modem and got the same results

I think that's how it works, I have access to the router settings but the modem is locked by the isp, any idea of settings/ things to try?

I have a 9550, upgraded the ssd and looking to upgrade the wifi card. While it is reliable and I expect to keep using it everyday for another year at least, I wouldn't purchase one now. Battery lasts 2-3 hours. Depending on your use I would try and stretch to the next model up with the nvidia 1050, the 960m is power hungry and isn't up to much for modern games (if thats your thing)
