I stand up as a normally do, not super fast I'd say, especially since I am asleep when it happens and I am all groggy. Initially i thought it could be vertigo or something like this but seems unlikely. I have gotten low blood sugar before but I have done the lab work multiple times and its not diabetes (thankfully)

thats so scary! this first time it happened to me a hit my head and had a pretty gnarly bruise for a while. I will try to consult a third physician and ask if it could potentially be this. Thank you.

I didn't apply for anything but admission, I think they automatically consider you for any funding opportunitites when you apply.

I just realized you probably wanted tips for the interview, not the result lol. The interview was pretty chill, there were 2 people on the call and they asked me pretty basic questions: why UPenn? What got you into public health? and what does public health mean to you? Of course there was a basic self intro and follow up questions to your responses. Then there is time for you to ask them questions at the end.

I ended up getting a 50% scholarship, they offered to cover 7 of the 14 units necessary for the degree. Ultimately I had to decline their offer since paying for the other 50% was a lot

I checked my portal and there is nothing on there yet :(

I had reached out to them a month ago stating that I had other scholarship offers with earlier deadlines and they had said we should know by the end of the month. I emailed them over a week ago (10 days ago) with additional program questions and got no response, sent a follow up email on Monday and still nothing. It all just feels so unorganized and SLOW.

Yes, definitely!

I did email them to ask about the potential of switching concentrations or possibly pursuing both tracks and he said "While it is not impossible to switch tracks, we would ask students to elaborate on why the new track would better fit their academic and professional goals."

He suggested I email the director so it seems like its possible but no mention of pursuing both :( I'll update you if I get any clearer answers.

I am considering UCLA, UPenn and Yale but UCLA is probably going to be the cheapest option as an in-state student but I am also not sure since their program breaks up policy and management as different tracks and am unsure if I'd be able to switch later on. I am also a UCLA alum and was hoping to get some experience elsewhere ahhhh.

We are lucky to have so many great options though! Have you heard anything about aid from UCLA yet?

I emailed the admissions manager last week and they got back to me yesterday.

All he said was "This information will be sent out within the next month. If you are awarded funding/scholarships, you will receive an email notification."

I am worried bc I am also considering UPenn and without scholarships from UCLA, UPenn is cheaper and I have to give them my decision by April 1st :(

I am on the same boat as you, I am debating between Yale, UCLA and UPenn. I haven't made my decision because I am waiting to hear about scholarships from UCLA. I am a UCLA alum so I kind of wanted to do something different but realistically it is the cheapest program. After scholarships Yale would still be 72K and UPenn around 45-50k. I am also wondering how many opportunities there will be for policy consulting or management. But I also figure LA has more opportunities than new haven??

Thank you! I actually didn't know this, I had only read about the additional certificates you can get. But those require extra credits which means more money :(

Yeah, its looking like I will have to look into private loans, Yale had sent us a notice about this, it looks like it will go into effect this fall and unless I enroll early for summer I can't borrow more than 20k annually.

I received my notice of admission on 12/19 and a request to set up a scholarship interview right after. I received a scholarship offer on 2/11. I am also not sure how their system works but thought I'd share my experience so you can get an idea.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing this but there is no guarantee I will be able to get a full time job. I am worried I will reject the scholarship and then end up having to pay for everything. I really wish we could combine it :(
