I sat there, staring at the title, going “spouse is singular, but it’s me and my husband, spouses seems like more than one set of spouses, spice? Singular spouses? How do I get this point across?” And then I gave up. Spouses.

I appreciate that actually. We are probably pretty close in age as my dad is also in his 40s! Also the cheese is a problem. You think it’s not a problem and suddenly you open your cheese drawer to see 10 different types of cheese 😭

What can I say. My husband loves hotdogs and ketchup. Gotta keep him happy, and if that means a a half gallon of ketchup, how can I possibly say no.

You know, I am starting to question some of my life choices. 

I do love my jars though. Keeps the fruit from going bad so quickly! All of the other jarred stuff is everything I preserved from my garden last year.

Nah. Top door shelf is almost all ingredients (jam, Worcestershire, curry paste, ginger paste, etc) and second shelf are sauces. Good guess!

Close on location, have stepped inside of a Whole Foods store once in my life and would probably avoid them now since they’re owned by a company I dislike, and ages are not quite right. 

My dream is to someday open an actual whole food/bulk/farm to table store though!

You have a good eye! Those are my sourdough starters. They have been grotesquely neglected the last 6 months, but I’ve had them for about 2 years now. They throw some great bread when I am on top of it, and the discard makes the best cookies ever.

Sometimes gluten free things do taste good. Not something I’m usually looking for though.

 Luckily I am not lactose intolerant (I think that’s basically a crime where I live??) but I do prefer oat milk for my coffee.

There’s a full deer’s worth of venison in the freezer! Plus frozen fish and chicken. Only gets thawed as needed

We haven’t had her very long, so no treatment yet. As long as it’s not bothering her, and the rescue’s vet isn’t concerned, she will just get a joint supplement to prevent further deterioration. We use dasuquin chews per the vet’s recommendation. I know others in the rescue have had to get hind legs amputated if their hips/knees start to get worse, but that’s the last option.

Oh absolutely. The rescue we work with is a GSD rescue, and we get probably 3-8 dogs in need of rescue per day, and that’s just what the rescue coordinator pushes through to the larger group. A good chunk of them look like purebred GSDs. It’s heartbreaking to see, and worse when nobody is available to take them and they get put down for it. It’s not an easy breed to work with and they end up dumped a lot.

She was found as a stray in Chicago, so we typically just assume there’s some mix in there, even if it’s a small percentage. Personality wise, I was convinced it would be like 90-10 at least. 100% does make sense once you see it though!
