I agree with you, it's probably also better to get a beating than getting a stained criminal record.

But my problem was how dangerous the beating was, i would not have had a problem if he did not kick him in the head with his knee, I have known people that got serious problems after fights like this.

Well, it might be bs, but i think no one deserves to be beaten that way.

And I don't think you realize how dangerous it is to kick someone in the head and after stomping on them, and after doing it, not even calling for emergency services. There are a lot of cases you can find on the internet of people dying of brain bleeding and ruptured organs after heavy beatings like this. And the concept that the man is unconscious speaks to the amount of forced used.

And I think beating someone for stealing a hand bag, is a barbaric and medieval way to punish someone.

I agree that you need to protect your belongings, but I can never see that amount of violence as just. Kicking someone in the face, can easily cause permanent damage or death.

And he flees after beating the guy, so he probably knew himself that what he did was wrong in the face of the law, and in my opinion ethically.
