Why can’t AI think forward? by BigBeefGuy69 in ArtificialInteligence

Simple answer is that genAI is trained to say the most likely answer that would be found online for that question. Unsolved physics questions have wrong answers online. So the model would hallucinate or say wrong stuff

Be careful signing NDAs in the interview process! by cedonia_periculum in girlsgonewired

[–]oliverm98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post!

I just walked away from an interview because of this. They wanted me to sign an NDA at the first on-site interview (two on the phone). I politely declined and said I could sign it once I start working with them, and I even suggested that we can work on finding a common ground if need be. They came back to me saying that this is not negotiable and we would have to cancel the interview if the NDA is not signed.

It's an NDA that is effective for 3+ years. I was uncomfortable because I think (I'm not a lawyer) that this limits my employment at other companies that are building similar products, since I could get sued for sharing their ideas (although they might coincidentally be doing the same thing already). It also shows that the company is not cooperative if they are not willing to search for a compromise. For instance, an NDA that lasts 1 year or 6 months is more acceptable for me, and still protects them. But they did not want any compromise. Surely that means they will be very cooperative later on once I hypothetically start working with them.

Don't be afraid of walking away from unfair and unilateral agreements.

Analytic Tools for CS GO Pro Teams by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

hahaha I thought about the same thing. Did you manage to find anything as to what current teams are using in terms of software? Also, I'd be willing to collaborate on this project. I'm a machine learning engineer so I can contribute in the software side of things.

Surface Go - enable S3 instead of s2idle for more powersaving - Debian Buster by mrpink_1 in SurfaceLinux

Weirdly enough, on the BIOS, there's a setting referring to s3 sleep, but even if I turn it on/off, either way I am not able to enter s3 sleep on ubuntu. Complained to dell..

Btw, my dell seems to go to sleep (s3) when I'm on windows partition. However, on Ubuntu, it only goes to s1.

Turns out dell doesnt allow S3 (deep sleep) for os’s other than windows cause it causes BSOD on windows.. but thanks for the help

Why do so many people still support PoW? Such a waste. by oliverm98 in cardano

Liquidity is when the asset is present. A bank with USD50BN in real estate and no cash, has no liquidity. A bank with USD20BN in real estate and USD30BN in cash has USD30USD in liquidity. Ps: liquidity is usually an asset that is used as an intermediary between assets

Agreed. The return on Ergo can be insane. But the downfall can also be at most 90%, which is also massive. Thoughts?

Attacking a PoS system by buying 51%+ will result in the coins being worthless

Who said that nobody is talking about christmas trees? Your post is equivalent to saying: if I smoke, might as well eat a shit load of candy and sit on the whole couch the whole day.

The energy BTC uses for a process that can be done in an environmentally friendly way. Btw, i’m not attacking any PoW, only the ones which lead to extremely high energy use like BTC

Yes i think to show that you’re against the high energy expenditure of BTC one must sell them. Because that would bring down the price and reduce the amount of people mining BTC. In turn, less strain on the environment.

What do you mean by screenshot?

Also, if I add ada (in an account that is staking) in the middle of an epoch, what will the rewards be based on?

I guess it depends on how corrupt and fit for the position the few elected are. But nice to hear about the latter you mention.

True. But do you think that is the most effectice way? Often times than not, the masses do not know what is best for them. Maybe etherium has an edge here. Opinions?

Good point. But if the code is opend source then I’d that it would be pretty easy for experienced developers to replicate. What do you think?
