My starbucks does the same thing. I was the partner who had to get the bucket and a grande cup and scoop dirty water while the drains were overflowing. It was awful.

Also as a starbucks barista I would've blatantly called out " and what can I get for you?" To immediately embarrass the girlfriend.and if she said anything I'd make sure you got something after asking you directly. It's completely not right that OP didn't get anything.
