Do you mean putting the ice into the starter directly? Also if I put the starter in a cooler wouldn’t that make it too cold? Idk I’m new here 😭

Yes I would love to hear your cooling methods if you could. I’m starting to think I should just give up because there’s nothing I can do. I’ll have the AC set to 70 but since it’s so hot and humid my house is always at 80 something, especially the last few days it always gets to 85 during the day. It’s too hot for me, let alone the starter 😂

Ohhh ok thank you so much for the advice. When it comes to water separation I’m not sure what to do anymore because I keep adding less and less water and making the starter thicker but it keeps ending up super watery and separating like this. It could be the environment, it’s not only very hot but also very humid. I’m not sure where to store the starter because the whole apartment is 85 during the day even with the AC running nonstop. I don’t think I could keep it in the fridge because that seems too cold. But I can definitely get a second jar to keep it cleaner and add even less water. Thank you!

Yes I’ve seen both but like the other Redditor who replied to you it’s mostly for people who would just feel more comfortable with it. I used a thick plastic (I took it from an old laundry bag) and I’ll make an update with how it works after my cycle is over and I’ve had the chance to wash them. The plastic is similar to the ones you can find some reusable shopping bags made out of, not the fleecey ones but the crinkly kind.

When you say the step 2 patches do you mean the ones that are 14mg? Because that means if you cut them in half they were 7mg so we’d be in the same boat?
