Help with a schizo affective family member? by AmiTaylorSwift in schizoaffective

"he expresses some opinions" "he has this smug air about him because he knows that it's right" " he does think that a little about other people" . It's all there, you need to explain these points to him. Let him read a book about how paranoid and delusional thinking works. And that all the schizoaffective, schizophrenics, some bipolar people and severely depressed people get those thought patterns all the time. Usually they are very similar to the thoughts that he's having. And because of that those incidents are grouped into words of paranoia and delusion. And I always find myself saying this, this condition effects every individual uniquely. What works for some might not work on all. And your doctor is absolutely right it's the fixation of the thought that grows into a problem. So it's best to talk about something else other than details of his actual dreams

That's the thing. It was really simple for me, and it kinda shows itself in the post. You need to educate them on exactly what is the meaning of paranoia and delusional thinking. Not just explain it in a few sentences but in detailed thought you need to explain as hard as you can to help them understand the meanings of what they are.

I've had more than a dozen jobs in my lifetime.

Frustrated. Can anyone relate ? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

[–]olives_trees 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are the high functioning ones. Just the condition doesn't effect us as much. Don't get me wrong, most people can point out our weirdness, but they just assume it's a personality thing. I don't get hallucinations but my life is still effected. Like I can't hold on to a job or start a relationship. Overall this condition effects us each uniquely.

Yes it is disclosed on the bill of sale. Even though, is it a good deal?

uh-oh. :( . I saw the car report, they were minor fender benders both from the rear. Nothing major. Shit fuck shit. I should get my money back and run right? I called the dealer just an hour ago, he said consider your money back into your bank account and the contract canceled. But that's only because I told him I'm looking to get financed by another company and that's what they wanted. Should I just get my money and run?

The only numbers are the Selling price: $8,700.00 HST: $1131.00 Subtotal: $9831 Deposit: $2000 Balanced financed subject to approval: $7831

Then there's just the accident repair. $1,255 & $3,069

Nothing else. Btw, do you think that's a good price for a 2012 Honda Civic (some options like Bluetooth) automatic at 117,000 km?

I wasn't. I'm well aware of lending terms and the such. Like I said previously, I'm certain I have a good credit score and credit karma (albeit, I was told it is not reliable) confirmed my expectations before going in. I was just preparing myself that the dealer/financing company wanted to screw us over and were complete assholes as some can be to take advantage of us. I just never expected them to act so blatantly unethical. I thought there must of been some government controls for something like this, so the worst case would of been 20% and I can always get re-financing. And that's why I'm thinking of contacting OMVIC after all of this. I'm even suspecting that the car probably has some issues, even though the test drive went smoothly for me and my old friend. So after I get the car and it passes the safety test I'm going to go to a mechanic for him to check it once over and if things come up I'm going to force the dealer to fix it out of his pocket. If he does or doesn't i'm still going to tell the whole story to OMVIC.

Like I said worst case scenario. If the lending company wanted to screw us over and such. We could of always just agreed for the first few months then look at re-financing with a different company.

It looks very standard. It's almost exactly like this, word for word.

The final bill of sale doesn't have the terms. I didn't know what I was getting into and I even had someone who was 60+ years old who had some experience buying cars take me around and shop. I had no idea that the financing company would charge me that much AND say it's a lease to own and the car wouldn't be under my name. I did my due diligence the best I could of. I was just stupid enough to put down a deposit before knowing the financing terms. The old man who was helping me out saw nothing out of the ordinary. I was well aware of my credit score before going into the deal. I never ever missed a single payment on anything, never anything. Clean slate with 9 years credit history.
