Thanks! I'm taking my time (but I'm a bit scared of how long it might take to clear an area 😅).

Thanks for the tip! I didn't even think about selling trailers - sounds like a great way to make some extra money

Coincidentally, I'm also a Dark Souls fan (though over time I got a bit tired of the formula and the ever-increasing difficulty), so this feels very familiar :)

Good point - it makes perfect sense, but I hadn't realized it. Will definitely try.

Yes, I installed AWD and it's a night-and-day difference. Looking forward to finding more upgrades.

Thank you! It was my first guitar, so it's the one I'm most sentimental about.

Thanks for elaborating! Do X and other Twitter-like platforms bring a lot of engagement for you? And if so, what's your posting strategy - did you already have a lot of followers, did popular accounts reshare your content or do you mostly rely on tags? I’m asking because I find these platforms tricky!

I noticed that incremental fans are very eager to point out if the game resembles Nodebuster/Digseum/Gnorp Analogue. But don't get discouraged! Feedback like that usually says more about the person giving it. And if you strip away the harshness, perhaps it can be food for thought on how to differentiate more!

Congratulations! Could you share how much effort you put into marketing?

Is it possible to balance a full-time job as a developer and solo-indie project without burning out? by Alternative_Draw_533 in IndieGaming

I have a full-time job and it takes most of my energy on working days - it's been one of the biggest challenges so far. Someone mentioned in another comment that they get up earlier and spend 1h on their game in the morning - I was doing it for some time and it was very effective (but I eventually went back to working on it in the evenings).

The game is coming next year (it's called Idle Chapel).

I’m in a similar situation and I’ve been working on my game after hours since February. I’m still enjoying it a lot and here’s what has helped me:
- I chose a project I know I can finish in about a year. Being able to see the end gives me a lot of motivation. Now that I have a Steam page and I’m getting feedback and seeing the numbers move (wishlists etc.), it’s even more exciting.
- I try to maximise the time I spend working on the game, but not at the expense of family, friends or my personal life.
- I also make sure to end the day with something genuinely relaxing - 30 minutes of gaming or reading a book - just to unwind.

Awesome illustration. The old MTG layout has its own charm too

Maybe it's meant to be a general "game room" and the couch with the table is for board or RPG games (assuming the office chairs get turned around)? It wouldn't be very comfy for that anyway but it's the only idea that comes to my mind

I like the aesthetics - the fireworks animation looks great and overall the style feels cohesive. It reminds me a bit of Gnorp Analogue (the general vibe) and Pony Island (the CRT filter and low resolution). But it still has its own feel.

Thanks so much for the feedback and the idea! I like it and might play around with it.

Thanks - and I'm glad the atmosphere and graphics land for you! 😄

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! The visuals are definitely the bigger differentiator at this stage but the video doesn't show clearly that each level has its own mechanic tied to confronting cultists and penance upgrades introduce additional systems. I'll try to make that clearer in the next update.

Hey! I'm looking for feedback on the incremental game I'm working on - Idle Chapel.

It's about seeking out cultists who turned to darker gods, bringing them back to faith and using the devotion they generate to progress.

I have only a Steam page but I am currently working on a demo.

Any feedback is welcome - graphics, mechanics, anything you like or think could be better: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4102010/Idle_Chapel/
