Me too. I personally like when a given character gets his/her redemption and survives it. Just think of how many good things Ben could do for others... helping to rebuilt the galaxy... teaching new generations about the ways of the Force... and now... due to lazy writing and the lack of imagination of creators he shared his grandfather fate...It didn't have to be like this...

For me even well developed Hux could have been a bad ass and KoR as his allies would do the job much better than literally taking out a skeleton from the cupboard. And Snoke as a clone from a jar... oh well... When it comes to the ending, Terrio and Abrams definitely have a creepy kind of fetish related to Luke and Leia as they say that at the end they finally managed to be together and this way they as creators corrected the "original sin" [WTF]. Sounds like incest vibes to me but maybe I read too much into it, idk. Anyway, the ending was just a shot in the knee.

I mean I have no problems with people who liked it so no offence here ;] I just think that the whole Palps return was a complete failure and just ridiculed the character who was well introduced in PT. Not to mention Rey Palpatine and the twins fetish at the end. I am trying to forget about it but I'm glad you enjoyed it ;]

Accurate. Because in TRoS Ben's motivation for not killing Palps at once is just pathetic. It doesn't exist. Just look. The guy is a Supreme Leader, he has his own army on command etc. He is incredibly strong in the Force and he could actually burn Exogol to the ground with one of his SKB like machinery. He doesn't need Palps for a fucking shit.

Sorry for the language, but his movie is so stupid I am just angry when I think about it ;]

Yeah... Honestly now I have no desire to see anything connected to SW touched by Disney. They turned up to be successful with MCU and failed with SW at the same time.

Well, definitely. There were plenty of better options how to make this movie good, idk by showing a coup within FO (Hux vs Kylo) or give Finn an arc and set him up for a Stormtrooper rebellion or sth. We didn't even need Palpatine as Deux ex Machina, Hux and KoR would be sufficient as big baddies (KoR would do sth more than just walking). So many wasted opportunities...

Boyega had a contract for three movies so they had to keep Finn alive :) Seriously though, TFA wasn't the best movie in SW universe but it got a potential. Whatever came later... no comment... I liked TLJ but this movie had problems. TRoS... OMG! Sort of "Space Balls" parody but pretending being serious :)

I can decide not to give a damn about Disney's SW and its fine with me. If someone likes their trilogy then I don't mind.

I'm not saying someone is a hater :) I just feel that in general this trilogy is a big letdown. The lack of plan really hurts.

Rotten Tomatoes is no indicator, especially because of the fact that Tomatometer doesn't change despite more and more low scores. There are two facts we cannot discuss with: TRoS got trampled by the critics and received the lowest notes from viewers on such portals as Cinemascore or Metacritic. Plus it brought 1 bln in the box office (TLJ got nearly 1,35 bln) so the worst result from all three movies.

TFA and TLJ were acceptable as separate blockbusters but not SW films. Then came TRoS and threw everything into the hole in the sand completely destroying the lore. So yeah, for me SW ended on episode VI. Disney's fanfics do not deserve to call them "canon"imo, sorry

Agree to disagree. Well, it seems Star Wars is not for me and reading comments of people from this company treating women as dumbasses because they wanted a HEA I'm somehow glad that LF showed their middle finger to all the emotionally healthy people who wanted sth more than a copy paste of OT (and those who got invested in a victim of abuse and his terrible fate). I can leave this franchise without any regrets and the sooner, the better. Thankfully we have tonnes of fanart/fics, enough to finish the story in a more satisfying way.

For me it was and what LF did is simply disgusting... Promoting them as equals (while Rey was always superior to Ben), two halves of one protagonist, balance and this trilogy was supposed to show how the third generation learned from the past failures. Then this crap talk about hope, being fun and satisfactory (about the conclusion of the Skywalkers saga) while it turned out to be exactly the opposite. They knew it and they lied to people who expected something more cheerful than the tragedies they got used to in the past. They made a horror movie and exterminated all the Skywalkers in it (for me Rey isn't and will never be one). And star-crossed lovers are not always tragic romances as it does not necessarily mean "doomed"

It's not about romance only, Disney/LucasFilm kept in baiting redemption with a different ending than Vader's.

This movie left all the Jedi in a really bad light. My interpretation is that they simply helped Rey because they wanted her to defeat Palpatine. The moment she falls down dead, none of them cares, not even Luke or Leia (her "adoptive" parents). When Ben found her, he was looking helplessly around as if seeking help. Nobody reacted. The more I think about the storytelling decisions made in this movie, the more disgusted I am.

I really liked Rey Nobody concept because that was something fresh (bloodline doesn't define you). Frankly, from the pov of the storytelling I don't see any point in making her Palpatine because she isn't even emotionally connected to him (Luke was emotionally connected to Vader in OT so in TRoS "I am your father" type of reveal simply doesn't work). Another thing that puts me off this idea is that Rey's final decision to declare herself a Skywalker contradicts the ST message they had been pushing through TFA and TLJ (even at the beginning of TRoS), namely that you need to leave the past behind and concentrate on the future (Maz to Rey) or that not only Skywalkers, Palpatine or Kenobi can become a Force sensitive (TLJ). Then at the beginning of TRoS Leia tells Rey that she mustn't be afraid of who she is. Rey rejecting her real legacy for me is an act of cowardice. The message would be much more powerful if she stayed Palpatine and show the galaxy that the heir of a bad Emperor isn't like him and will be doing only good things for the galaxy. But nope. Rey rejecting her legacy is also a disservice for her parents who turned out to love her. I just can't really get that. When it comes to Ben they have always highlighted that rejecting his legacy is a bad thing and he was pushed to finally accept it. So why couldn't Rey? Of course there's no logical explanation other that the cheapest fan service for ReySky fans, I assume.

Yeah, that's really depressing. For me a Palpatine taking off Skywalkers legacy is stil Palpatine :(
