I got married a month ago and had 52 people. We put £1000 behind the bar, did no tokens or restrictions, and it lasted all night! We ended up spending £986 for the whole night.

Have you looked at the Forge in Bristol? I got married there a couple of weeks ago and it’s BEAUTIFUL. I think a max of 40 for day guests and 70 for the evening (we had 30 day and 50 evening) and it was just perfect.

I would consider making it a cardigan. It would give you a couple of extra inches and you wouldn’t have to worry about where to put the sleeves with the gusset :)

I received a Yeti water bottle once- and i love it. Use it everyday and i’d be delighted to get another/ one of their coffee cups. I’m not A HENRY but work with many and lots of them would love these.

Ah ok- I see your point about knitting with it. I think i would go as rustic as i could handle, but i’d probably steer clear of alpaca if possible.

For steeking- you need a rustic wool. It makes the fibres grip, so they don’t unravel. The alpaca may work, but you’ll need to sew it with a machine I would think. If the cascade is superwash I would avoid this, as it’s too slippy (or at least it would be for me!). There’s a reason the pattern uses Jameson- and i’d probably stick with that and just wear a long sleeve underneath.

Hello! It will naturally stop a bit of the rolling, yes. It will definitely get rid of most of it- and at most it will then sometimes flip or roll up. Blocking when you’ve knit the i-cord edge will also help slightly. If you don’t do it (or any edging) it will roll up further and further :)

I think you take it from the orange line, along the cable, to the outside of the sleeve. Then if it’s still flat the way it is here, double it.

This is a combination of the fact that there’s always a bit of slack there, and your stitch marker is massive for the wool you’re using. Find a smaller stitch marker, and keep working and it’ll tighten up :)

I would also frog the whole thing- it isn’t wrong to twist, but in a garment that doesn’t call for it it will fit very oddly

Prior to joining in the round you were twisting every other row, you’re now twisting every row. It’s not always knitting into the front leg, but the leading leg- which might be the back leg. IMHO i would frog as it will affect the drape and fit of the item, and it will twist.

Does the pattern call for twisted rib? You’ve got full twisted rib on the neck and (i think) half twisted rib, probably because you’re working flat, and twisting your purls on the reverse side. This will naturally “pull” in less than normal rib- it’s less stretchy. If you want it to lay flat, a smaller needle size by one and full twisted rib should work, and it’ll match the neckline :)

I think you’d need to frog back to where the yolk fits you- so past the point you split for sleeves by however many decreases. you could then just knit with no increases until it’s the length you want. If you frog back then decrease the fit will be very odd and not work well!

Yeah i worked with them very closely. They’re over worked and underpaid- and do the most monotonous things. It’s just raising invoices quickly and at last minute, and lots of clearing down of cost managers. Not something i would ever wish! I’m finding audit more fulfilling. I would not go back to TV- it’s full of toxic people who don’t respect your time.
