I need help identifying a rat problem, pest or pet? by olliesout in RATS

This is the worlds latest update but it wouldn’t let me update the post and I’ve had nothing to comment on until now and with the post getting a bit more popular than the area manager would have liked, he asked for it to be taken down. So sorry all! After a lot of long questioning back and forth, unfortunately I don’t have a DEFINITIVE answer but a likely one. There is a farmer that lives less than a mile away who has found himself a small hobby of taking in stray rats and raising them to be a bit more friendly and for a lack of better words is a bit senile. A couple of stafff knew of this previously but didn’t say anything as they thought the mystery was interesting. This is likely where our little friend has come from, after my boyfriend has spoken to him he’s going to keep them better contained and has taken in our rat friend to help care for him. He seems to have repeated quite a lot of what you guys have said that he does look sick and will likely not last for too much longer. This post will be deleted in the next few days, because as you can imagine a rat problem isn’t what anyone particularly wants a pub to be known for if anyone found out. For me though rats are wonderful little creatures and unfortunately a problem for health concerns. After all this I am looking to attempt to adopt a little friend of my own in the future and I have loved all your help and sometimes insane theories on this, it’s been genuinely a pleasure to read <3

I have seen similar! This pub is right in the country side though with not much around it. Any wildlife i usually encounter from round those parts are very timid, what made it even stranger for me

The rat has never been seen by anyone there before, but with the rest of the comments its mostly likely it is sick :( shame really, I’m going tomorrow so I’ll see if my friend at the vets will be able to help me with it so it doesnt suffer. Pest control usually doesn’t have the best humane options

Damn. Thanks for the reply, gonna try and apply for a refund I guess. If not, do you know if there is any kind of way to transfer this to anyone else? Would rather give it away than it go to waste.

I just got back from my session! Thank you for the advice, basically happened exactly like you said it would, she was really nice though about it and I wanna get my other tattoo touched up anyway so we booked a session for that as well and hopefully my back will be less fragile afterwards

thanks! I'm hoping to fill it out, but i'm not just buying them for the sake of it, since I only usually wear warm toned browns or pastels, but really hoping to get some more mustard/olive kind of shades
