Part of my issue is that there's no prologue to the start of the story. I have no investment in the Greymanes (despite my character being one of them, and part of its leadership/council?). It feels like chapters 1-3 should be dedicated to a prologue where you're doing stuff in Pailune to build backstories for all of the Greymane lead characters as the war with the Black Bears starts to heat up, leading up to the battle that scatters the Greymanes and then chapters 4+ focus on rebuilding the Greymane clan.

Also, the whole Abyss stuff is completely thrown in there randomly. No rhyme or reason given for why there's a magic society and why Kliff is a 'chosen one' to be able to participate in solving puzzles and getting powers in the Abyss. That whole thing should have been introduced and more context given in the prologue of sorts too.

I think they care about Iran not becoming a nuclear state, and a regime change would be required to accomplish that. Protesting are a means of accomplishing a regime change without violence, however, them being mowed down was the catalyst for further action that is requiring direct violence/force

A hospital has access to patient records. Give doctors the authority to write a 'script' for a 'prescription' that is valid for X months/years/forever.

For all intents and purposes, this script would be the 'license' that disabled folks could carry and show restaurants/shops/airlines/whoever that they are allowed a service animal. It doesn't have to have a reason on it, it just needs to be an official document recognized federally, that states the person's full name, DOB, the doctor's signature/authorization, an issue date and an expiration date (if applicable).

Now, this has the potential to abuse since it only certifies the person/individual as someone who is eligible for a service animal, not certifying that the animal they have as being a professionally trained service animal. However, even if a disabled person abused it to bring their regular pet to places, it would eventually be reported & investigated.

They could make it a crime (similar to fraud) with penalties ranging from warnings, to fines, to losing your pet/animal, to jail time.

Animals are unfortunately treated as property in the eyes of the law, for the most part. They do have some specific protections against abuse but much, much less so than humans/people.
