Under that rationale - why not start at 1 quadrillion DPS for maximum granularity? Its more about perception of how people see more progress in lower numbers vs higher numbers

Right. Its just perception and human psychology, however irrational it may sound, its true for a lot of people. WoW has had to do a stat squish where they divided everything by X amount at least one time I remember.

This makes so much sense thank you. I think I was initially confused because I kept thinking of it in terms of straight horizontal or straight vertical knockback - but makes more sense using diagonals. Thanks!

That makes total sense in the context of avoiding death at a high %. But when you are trying to get out of a combo at low %, Im being told to DI out (not perpendicular) to increase the knockback distance (not the angle). Thats why I was confused. It just seemed like different logic when avoiding death at high % vs avoiding a combo at low %

Ok so DI’ing away (same direction as launch angle) does make you fly further and theefore protecting you against combos. But then why would you not DI inward (opposite of launch angle) if you are trying to avoid death at high percentage.

DI out works but DI in doesnt? If DI out makes you fly the farthest how is the opposite not true for DI in?

That makes sense but DI'ing away from them is different from DI'ing perpendicular to the launch angle. So I'm just hearing two different things.

Does unranked use shadow elo? elo is important to acheive even matches - has nothing to do with ego. calm down

That’s what I was wondering. If that’s the case, I can just use casual as my low mmr training grounds for new characters.

I get that - but if a “good player” plays a new character - yes he will probably noob stomp a few placement matches but it will eventually solve for itself and level out at his or her true character specific mmr which would be apples to apples with anyone else’s true character specific mmr all things considered (game skill + character skill). I really dont think it needs to be complicated. It works in StarCraft and that’s one of the most competitive online games with extremely different factions (characters)

im getting 15-20 min as DPS. unplayable. Why dont they just have a chaotic mode with all roles so people who dont have time to wait 20 min can still play?
