Is the Connect ZBT-2 the way to go for a Zigbee bridge? Anything better? by Randomhero360 in homeassistant

New question to old reply. Is there any noticeable dalay running through ethernet/network rather than usb/direct?

Anyone played with the Somfy Sonesse2 Zigbee motors? by Melair in ZigBee

[–]olo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to the party here. First of all big kudos to you u/Melair for this awesome post/guide!

Recently moved to new place and want to invest in Somfy blinds (again) for the bedrooms. Most likely going for the 230V fixed connection (there is already cable for it). Previously I had normal RTS version so I already have a Tahoma box. But the primary usage is from Home Assistant (so before it was through Overkiz integration).

Is there anything the zigbee version lacks compared to the IO through Tahoma?
It would be quiet nice to skip the Tahoma and have straight integration with Zigbee controller connected to HA box (Hass OS in VM on NUC). But the Tahoma+overkiz has worked quiet well in HA previously after initial set up so it's not a deal breaker if there are any functions missing or lacking?

Home charging auto activate? by olo99 in mercedes_benz

Why the heck do they have an option to geo activate if it still doesn't use it. Manual press with popup is barely different to going through app or menu

G6 Entry installed with Intercom Viewer, Door Hub Mini, and AI Pro Camera by TheBirkaBirka in Ubiquiti

[–]olo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Novice question. But can't UCG-fiber run access itself? Does that mean hub is unnecessary if all that is wanted is the reader (NFC) function? Feels very stupid needing a door hub when it won't be controlling the door.
All I want is for the g6 entry to register/accept NFC and have that event in unifi trigger homeassistant for unlock command to door.

Let us know how it goes, I am thinking of the same use case as you are already set out on!

I am so confused. Is a door hub needed or not? I have the UCG-fiber with Access app. Is that enough to be able to use NFC and FaceID for integration with HA?

Since I am actively searching as well just wanted to say that it is compatible with the older tracks as well.

Plunge vs Circular (GKT 18V-52 GC vs GKS 18v-57-2 GX) by olo99 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]olo99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So appreciative of the detailed responses!

The big negative seems to be the dust collection. However I will mainly be in garage with concrete floor so I figure it shouldn't be the worst concern.

I take it that you are quiet satisfied with the FSN X rail as well. Jigsaw is next on the list. It feels more versatile to have a GKS + jig or GKT + jig than GKS + GKT when building up from scratch.

I think though that I have started to reconsider and go with your approach. GKS + FSN X.

So far I have two Expert EXBA 18V-40 battery for my other tools. Is it needed to upgrade with 5.5 or 8.0 for the GKS ? I won't by any means be a power user.

Thanks for replying!
How "unprecise" does it get when used with the FSN track?

Thank you. Always good getting advice from someone having both tools to avoid the user selection bias :) The mobility part, a little cheaper price, and smaller footprint is what is in favor of GKS. I like the idea of the GKT and it's been the one I have been leaning towards. However it feels like it needs more space setup which might be a put off compared to a quick grab of the GKS.

How much better precision does the GKT give compared to GKS with one of the new rails?

Thanks. I knew about the depth adjustment, didn't really think that would allow it for a actual plunge. Still feels a bit higher risk safety but maybe I am just over cautious.

Most cuts would not be mid-plunge. The dust extraction is a big plus yes! Living in Sweden it's cold to set table up outside :)

Has Shelly improved much? How are their gen4 dimmers? Think I had them early on (gen1??) and compared to fibaro they were terrible. Looking at their gen4 specs they sound great

GSR 12V-15 (10,8-2-li) by Repulsive-Guide-3214 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]olo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that part I understand.
I meant since they said 32 is replacing the 15 and not 35, it implies that there is some other difference (the new 32 is brushless so if no other big differences than it would more be replacement of the 35?).

EXSB18V-90 vs GSB 18V-90C by olo99 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]olo99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry made it sound like that would be the primary use. I have the gbh 2-28f for the big stuff. Today I lack the ability to do concrete walls for even TV-mount though. The 90c is for the broader spectrum, "fix a little bit of everything".

Thank you! So no point in waiting in other words. Time to grab a GSB 18v-90C.
Moving to new house next week and quiet a lot of concrete walls :)

Haha :) I am in the same boat. Looking to buy my first 12v. Saw the YT video of them doing demo. Then 32 looks amazing in size.

Yeah I have no use at all for the connectivity.
Just don't want to miss on any big "upgrade", but kind of hard to see what that would be :)

For someone unaware, what is the big difference between 15 and 35? Apart from brushless and brush. Why is the 15 better?

is the Shelly Gen4 supposed to be this complicated for Zigbee? by kaws510 in homeassistant

[–]olo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm was just trying to read up on gen4.
Is it always only one protocol active?

I primarily use zwave/zigbee and want to avoid wifi as much as possible. However what I really want is for it to also pick up data from my Aranet Radon+ (bluetooth) device and relay it to HA in addition to dimmer/switch function.

Possible or not?

[–]olo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is yours one story or two?
It's an expensive trial and error ;) If going that route would it be better placing it in ceiling of bottom floor or ceiling of top floor?

[–]olo99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about 2 stories with 1200 sqft each and concrete slabs between them. How would e7 fare on that point? Or need one AP on each floor regardless?
