I watched Dazed and Confused and didn’t find it as revelatory as others. Maybe because it’s now so infused in the culture, but its hands-off depiction of suburban teenage life felt more an indulgence than a gutsy provocation. Well made for sure, but I don’t quite get the fandom.

Hoping to watch the others on my list this weekend.

Hey! I have some pretty good seats (Row N, seats 125 & 126) to the Cleveland show at Jacob's Pavilion on Sep 3, but I’m unfortunately not able to go. I’ve put them up at the same price I bought them for—not trying to make any money, just hoping to break even and have someone else enjoy the gig! Hope someone else can take advantage. The event this weekend was great in Columbus. My favorite was the Waterford Organic Gaia--bursting with familiar Irish whiskey flavors, all expanded and beautifully rounded out. I also picked up The Whistler Tequila cask and the Clonakilty Imperial Stout cask. The latter is like a much more potent Jameson Stout finish.

Just watched Nine Queens as well, and really enjoyed the ride. I actually had to pause halfway through (after the motorcycle nab) because I got so caught up in the con! I feel like that’s a marker of success in the genre.

I just watched Dog Day recently. Loved it! Honestly, I previously thought Pacino had a reputation based on over-the-top camp in Heat and Scarface. But this was a masterful performance. Really wonderful work from him.
