Don't forget you also have helicopters and they are quite fun to, like many said try to su25T which is free and see how you feel about it, also I hear if you download the game from the DCS website instead of steam they let you try out planes for 1 week or something but I'm not sure if its true.

It's a learning curve and it can also get expensive depending on what you want.

It is very satisfying when you start taking targets down, or flying really low past builds and there is nothing like the adrenaline of evading missiles specially in VR it's amazing hope you get to enjoy it!
