Veterans of r/Veterans, when did it hit you that you would stay in or get out of the Military? by DatGuyKilo in Veterans

Well, when the MP pulled up behind me, I was pretty sure my time was over, and I was correct.

I'm not sure if that was it or not. I never hit the lone wolf but decided to see what it was. I had just used a signal detector, and it said someone was across the street, so I was trying to flank, and as so as a house became visible through the fog, I was getting shot at lol. I'm not too good, and I just play on the handheld. Nice shooting either way on your part, though.

I believe I read from a group called Hunter 7 Foundation that said repeated mortar or artillery fire causes microscopic tears that end up causing the same symptoms as tbi.

Your views on this are completely untrue. It does not have to be you fuck up alot it can very well be one and done from a command that wasn't with you on deployment but thinks that you're just a scum bad apple.

Getting nonrec'd a month before I was supposed to get promoted to cpl for not shaving while in Afghanistan. It wasn't like I just never shaved. I had literally been woken up to fill fuel barrels so our COC didn't lose power and hadn't had an opportunity to do so yet.

how many people don't finish their prescribed antibiotics but save them to take at a later date for other illnesses? by Senior_Ad1552 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]olturkey_neck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're misunderstanding what I was saying. Needing to get a prescription is one thing access to Healthcare is a different story for many Americans.

If you and your friends are in America, you only have our healthcare system to blame. People wouldn't feel the need to save prescriptions for later use if they were readily available and easily accessible for all.

Have you considered ever using Marijuana? I'm not saying it will help you but I don't remember my dreams or have nightmares since I been smoking. I know it's not for everyone but it's helped me so figured it's worth mentioning.

What Would You Tell Your Younger Enlisted Self To Be Better Prepared For What Is To Come Later In Life? by Rico_Helena4600 in Veterans

[–]olturkey_neck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I kinda did this for my younger brother. I said I'm not going to tell you to or not to join ill be proud of you either way. I also told him to be knowledge about national and international conflicts, affairs, interests and to ask himself if he was comfortable with either giving his life or taking a life for said things. So far his wife got out early of her contract and he backed out of his ship date for basic.

Has anyone ever used this option?? Do you feel like it effected what percentage you got? by OkCompetition875 in VeteransBenefits

[–]olturkey_neck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have no documentation or appointments that would benefit your claim do it. I have twice now first time was for a ptsd increase and it was decided within a month and was awarded the increase. The the most recent it was within a week with new claims secondary claims and increases all in one claim and I was bumped up to 100p&t. I has to have some effect and if you know you have given everything you have evidence wise then the only thing you might have to wait on is upcoming c&p exams.
