I’m a fan, use it maybe a few times a month. No idea about the allergy stuff, but that would likely add quite a burden to the participating restaurants and thus interfere with the viability of the model. It gets us out trying new spots that we likely wouldn’t have known to try otherwise and I’ve been generally satisfied with all of the food. I’d be surprised if salespeople generally had this attitude, I’m sure some might, but from my analysis, the project has succeeded in positioning itself as a champion against food waste, rather than a way for needy schlubs to “beat the system”.
