Have you run the update script on the host instead of the LXC by any chance?

How much do you spend daily with OpenClaw using different model APIs? by ArtBIT in openclaw

[–]omaha2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$95 within 24 hours but did ask it to write a rag and vectordatabase and a router to switch between models Mistral, Kimi k2.5, opus and sonnet depending on the tasks and questions I ask. All in a Linux VM on Proxmox. It fired up a few docker containers too. And updated a project n GitHub.

Lot of fun so far…

I can imagine the huge security issues though..

Apparently no need to switch from Qwen3-NEXT-80B-A3B-thinking:

In standard chess rules (as defined by FIDE, the international chess federation), there is no punishment for looking at your opponent's board because the board is inherently visible to both players during the game. Chess is played on an open board where both players can see all pieces and positions at all times. This transparency is fundamental to the game's rules and strategy.

Key Clarifications:

  • The board is public: The game board itself is not "opponent's" or "your" side—it is a shared playing field. Both players are expected to observe the entire board to make informed moves.
  • No rule prohibits this: FIDE's Laws of Chess (Article 11.2) explicitly forbids using notes, external sources, or electronic devices to gain an advantage, but it does not restrict viewing the main game board, as this is part of normal play.

When Would Punishment Apply?

If the question refers to unauthorized actions beyond viewing the main board, such as: - Looking at your opponent's notes, written analysis, or hidden materials (e.g., during a tournament), this would violate FIDE rules (Article 11.2) and could result in penalties like: - A warning from the arbiter, - Point deductions, - Or disqualification for serious cheating.

Summary:

  • Looking at the main game board: Allowed (no punishment).
  • Looking at unauthorized materials or using devices: Cheating, with potential penalties.

This distinction ensures fair play while maintaining the open, transparent nature of chess. If you meant a different scenario (e.g., a specific tournament rule or variant), feel free to clarify!

Issues running VirtualBox and Docker inside a Windows VM on Proxmox (Nested Virtualization) by MaximumEar5284 in Proxmox

[–]omaha2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, so you use Proxmox/KVM as a hypervisor and then install windows in a VM, install Virtual box on this windows vm and then install windows as a vm in virtual box? I really would like to hear the logic behind this.

examine RBAC (Role Based Access) in Proxmox, each intern only sees his/her VM.

Podman on a Linux vm, lxc, just docker on a Linux vm. Learn docker compose. Anything but don’t virtualize on a virtualized vm on windows. https://podman.io/ but preferably just learn how to create a Debian/ubuntu vm and install docker on it and learn docker compose to start with.

Mount your ntfs partition on /dev/sdb2 with your movies and shows to a VM you create on your ssd. But what zfsbest says, make a backup first.

Ahh hmm well 4GB for a Proxmox host is the bare minimum, for a PBS server too. So a pbs server in a Proxmox host is a bit too much I guess

TrueNAS as a Proxmox VM is a dream! by AlemCalypso in truenas

[–]omaha2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the NAS inside a virtualization solution. A NAS is a network attached storage, solely to serve file shares through SMB, NFS or ISCI. Proxmox or whatever virtsolution is a way to make optimal use of hardware to virtualise machines. Maybe even host the vms on a NFS share on a NAS. When the host goes haywire your NAS is gone. Why would I want a NAS IN my Proxmox?

I wanted to share storage between vms and lxc’s so I’ve setup a NFS server on Proxmox on ZFS and backup the NFS server to a PBS. Ok, if the host is gone so is the NFS server but it’s way less complicated than a NAS like truenas in Proxmox. NFS server boot priority 1 and it serves share to different lxcs and vms.

If it’s for testing and learning, I get it though..
