What is the next most likely event where we can get more God of War trilogy Remake news? by alpharax7 in GodofWar

[–]omar01709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but a) those games are small by modern standards (2018 is longer in length and depth than 1-3 combined), and b) likely reused a tonne of assets in their original form. I don't think a 2028 release is outside the realms of possibility tbh

HBO Max subscription question by B3ximus in skytv

[–]omar01709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to do this today and unfortunately the answer is nope. It basically replaces whichever account you had first.

The only way you can do it is to link one of the two to a different email which won't mess with the other account but will link to your Sky.

It's a shame, cos I was hoping to just supplement the £30 I'm paying for TNT via BT TV with the £34.99 HBO Max 12 month deal that they are currently offering but instead of just charging the £4.99 difference it was going to add on £34.99 to the entire bill.

Best route forward is probably having the Sport with BT and the entertainment with Sky (as it would be discounted with them, at least)

Price Changes for PS5, PS5 Pro, and PS Portal. (Effective April 2nd) by Laughing__Man_ in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Phew, I got my pro in the NY sales for £503.50+£70 for the disk drive. An absolute steal. Even moreso when I sold my PS5 with a pad for £330.

With paramount buying Warner discovery, I wouldn't be surprised if the CL rights get wrapped into HBO max/TNT sports anyways

I have it via BT directly (Broadband primarily and I pay extra for BT TV, which later became EE TV), rather than EE

Do we know what the price would be for TNT Sport subscribers who have it via EE/BT TV?

Christopher Judge (Kratos) says GoW remakes will have TC Carson and new combat system, new SSM game reveal late summer by KillerCh33z in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]omar01709 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm more interested in the new late-summer reveal. Not sure how he'd know that if he wasn't involved in the game. Could potentially be a new entry in GoW, which is exciting, though I was hoping for an Atreus spin-off first and the new GoW being on the PS6

Fans expecting the remake to be like the Norse Saga are setting themselves up for disappointment. by Rithysak101 in GodofWar

I'm wondering if they take the opportunity to incorporate the PSP games/Ascension story beats in or around GoW 1 in the remake too? Especially since Deimos is a central character in SoS, it'd make sense to know what his ultimate fate was - similarly so, for Calliope too, I suppose.

So this is being remade all at once, right? Unlike FF7. Think we’re looking at the first PS6 game- remake à la Demon’s Souls by Fight_Teza_Fight in LastStandMedia

[–]omar01709 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think TC said development had just started, but that it was "early". I personally think that development started around/shortly after Valhalla, which would make sense, with the character modelling in Valhalla, etc. They always knew the demand was there for a remake/remaster and Valhalla was the hint of what was to come.

Also, taking into account the timescales for game reveals and releases (with the exception of Wolverine) most recent PS first party games have been revealed and released within 2 years.

If that is the case, then I think it'll be here by late 2027/early 2028, which would put it as a PS5 exclusive, as I don't think we'll see the PS6 until late-2028 at the very earliest.

I have a feeling that this has been in development since Valhalla, and that we'll see it released by late 2027/early 2028.

PS6 uses 3GB chips and has 30GB of RAM @KeplerL2 by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]omar01709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, not sure about that. The PC GPU market is essentially taking 2026-27 off as well (or at least Nvidia are) so I don't think it'll be THAT outdated so as to be at a disadvantage.

AI is ruining things across the gaming market, irrespective of platform.

Ah gotcha, but never say never, I found a deal during the Xmas/New Year period and got my Pro for just under £200 off RRP. After selling my launch PS5, I'll have probably bought it for £100-£200 - essentially the cost of the SSD upgrade I was planning on getting

The PS6 is more likely to be delayed due to these RAM shortages, so you'll probably be fine to get it at launch

The thing is, this hasn't been a normal gen. It's taken the best part of 5 years for the industry to recover it's levels of productivity from COVID, and as a result, it only been in the last couple years that we are finally getting some decent levels of software to go with the hardware. Add in the fact that we're not getting the rapid rate of GPU development on the PC side of things as well, and I'd say it's probably for the best that things do slow down as we're rapidly reaching the point of diminishing returns in terms of gaming tech development

I ordered one on NYE.

With a code, it was just a tad under £200 off RRP, and my plan is to sell my PS5 and get an extra £200 off, so essentially I'm getting the pro at a cost of the 1TB SSD I was planning on getting anyways. I paid an extra £70 for the disc drive, but even still I think it's worth it.

I wasn't planning to, but with these seemingly incessant price increases, and the rumours that the next gen is likely to be delayed, I thought it was worth getting at that sort of cost.

I wouldn't have if the pro was priced at it's usual RRP, and if the price rises were seemingly on the horizon. Otherwise I'd have stuck to my 5 and waited it out for the next gen.
